Trying to figure out the themes in our workouts to try and figure out what the team really wants out of this draft. My best guess;
1. Brook replacement - big and comicly long (M Williams, Kessler, Koloko, Badji, Cockburn)
2. Small ball 5 (Liddel, Lofton, Roddy, Trevion Williams)
3. Wing Length (Watson, Minnot, McGowans, Wendell Moore,Beauchamp, Jalen Hardy, Dalen Terry, Kendall Brown) - also not all, but a lot of these guys seem like plus athletes)
4. High floor shooters (my best attempt to categorize them) - (LaRavia, Malakai Branham, Braun, Christie, Gabe Brown)

I'm sure I mucked up some of the guys in certain categories and missed other names, but those seem to be the archetypes to me.

Did we work out all these guys?

Preferring a wing like Eason, Terry or Beauchamp. But the Mark Williams thing would be interesting to have to uber-athletic 7-footers.

With the exception of M. Williams, I think so, but I am going from memory. M. Williams which I am just riffing off the talk about us trading up and he does seem to fit that archetype.

Watching Cockburn's workout videos was pretty hilarious. He looked so slow and uncoordinated.

I stand by my original list: Terry, Eason, Liddell, M. Williams, and toss in a couple of others.

My do not draft list is much bigger: Kessler, Nembhard, LaRavia, Braun, Baldwin Jr, Beauchamp, Hardy and I'm sure I could add a few more in there.

Here's what Givony said:

The Bucks are said to be exploring a host of options with this pick, with names including Andrew Nembhard, Jake LaRavia, Christian Braun and Ismael Kamagate bandied about and indicating the team is exploring "older" players who can help the team win now while their championship window is open. Rival teams say the Bucks have indicated a willingness to explore moving up in the mid-to-late teens portion of the first round, potentially targeting some of the draft's best 7-footers like Mark Williams and Walker Kessler.

Beyond that, with several frontcourt players on expiring contracts or entering their final seasons, adding an All-American big man such as Liddell could be attractive. Liddell is a solid rim protector who can switch on the perimeter and improved his shooting significantly as a junior, giving him a high floor as a prospect. Liddell's productivity and toughness make him a solid option at this stage of the draft.

Really unclear based on that if the "best 7-footers" is based on non-public information or if it's just what he thinks based on "several frontcourt players on expiring contracts or entering their final seasons" combined with where he has those bigs slotted. Maybe we really like Blake Wesley or something.

Trading up to get Mark Williams would be an interesting move. He’s going to be really elite defensively and he’s shown promise offensively.

What would we even give up to move up into the teens? Would Grayson get us there? Future 2nds? I'm not seeing how we could even pull that off

Yeah, I am not sure, when I started looking at this, very few guys we were bringing in were top 20 draft picks in mocks like nbadraftroom or tankathon. Which made me think the 'moving up' talk was just throwing stuff out there but I really don't know.

Wesley would be an interesting pick. Hard to see him contributing much next year, but if the shot improves he brings some stuff the Bucks don't have a lot of and he could be looked at as a steal down the road.

I think a pick swap + one of our scraps could do it if a team isn’t really interested in what’s there in teens.

Draft Williams, package up Brook and whatever and being in a wing. Though I’m not sure what Brook’s value actually is.

It really shouldn't take that much to move up from 24 into the mid-teens. All it took for Utah to move from 24 to 13 back in 2017 was Trey Lyles. Grayson plus maybe throw in a 2nd rounder should be enough.

I’m really high on Williams. Yeah, I’m a Duke fan but his rise from being atrocious in his first year to being a defensive monster and really capable rim runner was fascinating, and he’s clearly developing still.

And, most importantly, he’s really, really coachable.

If you are looking for an attainable Brook replacement, I think he’s your guy. You lose Brook’s scoring presence, but if he’s hurt half the year or we’re healthy that’s not really missed most of the time.

I'm thinking it's EJ Liddell if we don't make a trade. Mark Williams if we move up. Kessler a possibility too, but at #24 if Liddell is gone. I think Giovanny has a good vibe on Bucks info.

Its strange that they mentioned all of those "older" guys that can contribute immediately and Wendell Moore name isn't one of them. He may not have a high ceiling but he seems like what Matthews would be if he was the same player he is but was 21 (which is a little different than comparing him to a 21 year old Matthews)

The older guys Giovanny mentioned (Andrew Nembhard, Jake LaRavia, Christian Braun and Ismael Kamagate) are mostly mocked in the 2nd round. I get the feeling that coud be one scenario that plays out (we gain a 2nd rounder).

I'm pretty close to this. I'd switch Liddell and Braun, but that's about it.
