Who is the negative effect on him this season? Because his stats are nearly identical.

Are you saying Anthony Mason didn't have upside when we got him?
He had an upside of toughness that the team lacked, but the downside was his attitude and totally ruined the team chemistry.
Yeah. He didn't give a crap. Same as Josh Smith. No coach can fix notgivacrapitis.

I agree. Those are the kind of moves we need to keep climbing the latter. Realistic and probably good for both teams.

I don't see how Mason and Smith are comparable at all. You said it yourself, Mason didn't have upside ("toughness" in your own words) and had a ton of downside to that team. Smith is the opposite. Give Kidd a chance with him I say. 2010 Josh Smith is a weapon and cheap players that come with his upside don't fall off trees.

What's our best offer for Ty Lawson?

I'd offer just about anything outside of Giannis and Parker and it probably wouldn't be enough.

I didn't have time to read this entire thread so my apologies if this is a duplicate.
This works on the Trade Checker.
Bucks trade:
Sanders
Ersan
Mayo
NY trade:
Amare
2015 1st
Why for the Bucks:
With Parker down, we leverage the opportunity to focus on building a championship team rather than immediate playoff contention. NY should have a top 8 pick this year, even with an improved roster for the back half. Amare could plug in along Henson for the remainder of this year so Bucks don't totally lose fan support and Bucks need to sell the vision.
Why for NY:
Melo is 30. This is a team that can't wait on a rebuild and needs quality veterans to compete now. They get three players who could all fit the triangle system to put around Melo making them a really solid team for 2015/2016 season.

http://www.denverpost.com/nuggets/ci_27 ... ets-season
"I've seen some of the comments and some of the clips in terms of should the team be blown up and start planning for the future," Shaw said. "You have to start considering a lot of different things — changes being made. That's just the reality of the situation. That's why these moments are so precious and these games are so valuable. When we have an opportunity to win them, we have to win them. And with each game that we don't, we just slide further and further out of the picture."
The Nuggets have made and fielded calls about trades from across the league. With a roster full of players with tradeable contracts — outside of JaVale McGee's two years at $24 million (including this season) left — it's not difficult to find trade partners. Pretty much every player on the roster has been inquired about multiple times, except McGee, who is now injured.
Getting good value is difficult, however.

I don't see either Schroder or Teague being available. Teague is a big part of their success (at 8M/year as we all know) and Schroder is becoming more and more comfortable and impactful. The Hawks have something very good going and I see them riding it out.

Trade Targets
Lot of good background on the Nuggets here:

The Faried mess in particular seems like it could come to a head quickly if they blow it up:
"
http://m.espn.go.com/nba/story?storyId= ... ried%22%7D
The Faried mess in particular seems like it could come to a head quickly if they blow it up:
Several sources around the league insist the Nuggets' hand was forced with regard to Faried. After the signing of Hickson to a three-year, approximately $16 million contract soon after Connelly's arrival, the sense was the bouncy big man was insurance against Faried's departure in free agency in 2014. Faried was a fan favorite in Denver, but multiple sources with knowledge of the Nuggets' thinking maintain the team "isn't crazy about him," particularly Shaw. But with Faried's boffo showing last summer with Team USA and a loyal following in Denver, the media-conscious Nuggets caved, adding yet another imperfect 4-man to their lot.
"[Faried] is a helluva player and plays hard, but he isn't well liked [in the organization]," a league source said. "That gets glossed over. He says crazy s---. He thinks he's the guy, and other guys take exception to his contract."
In a mid-market city that's unlikely to attract a marquee free agent, Denver has historically followed the asset-play model -- lock up the player and, if need be, you can always deal him later, but under no circumstances lose him for nothing. The prime example here is Nene, who was signed to a five-year, $67 million deal in December 2011 but shipped to Washington three months later for a package highlighted by McGee, who was still on his rookie contract at the time. The Nuggets have a committed payroll close to $70 million for 2015-16 -- behind only the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors for next season. With diminishing hope they can achieve the relevance Connelly aspires to, the Nuggets will soon need to consider unburdening themselves of some of those hefty paychecks.
"Every player on our roster is a movable asset," Connelly said.

Yep, teams playing as well as they are tend to not shake things up.

Phil Jackson is not stupid. He won't give up a top 5 pick for those 3

Re: Trade Targets
Agree Atlanta does NOT move Teague or Schroeder at deadline
Denver won’t trade Nurkic
I like Hickson to help rebounding & interior toughness
I promoted getting oquinn for 2 yrs but NO way Orlando lets him go NOW
