Monarch E7:

Spoiler:
Yuck. They dedicated an episode to their worst character - a superfluous tagalong who is just straight up not a believable person, and has no bearing on the actual narrative. And they just keep going with the stupid double-cross nonsense. What a drag.

Left Jury Duty off my TV list. It was great.

Rebel Moon was better than Jupiter Ascending. Maybe on par with new Dune remake….

On the subject of Apple shows sabotaging themselves with a bizarre fixation on their worst character.

Spoiler:
For All Mankind finally punts the boat anchor that was Danny, and replaces him with an equally obnoxious dumbass in Miles. I come to this show for elaborate world building, and an aspirational vision of humanity by way of exceptionally talented (if flawed) characters. There is no room for buffoons on center stage.

Spoiler:
Very happy Danny got his last few minutes of screen time, but yeah I don't like the Miles character either. But overall I like the current season

Adding to that topic, ted lasso.

Spoiler:
Keeley wasn’t the worst character in ted lasso but s3 focusing so much time on her in a pointless arch was definitely a low point in the series.

There's just nothing to like about For All Mankind.

Spoiler:
Margo's character was sabotaged. Ed's an old, bitter, ****. No idea why Miles was introduced, except to have a romance subplot they abandoned within a week. I don't know who was asking for more Dev, and now they're going to steal an asteroid? Okay.

How do we feel about Slow Horses here? Deciding if I want to start that or The Americans

The Americans is a much better show but a bigger time investment. Slow Horses seasons are only 6 episodes long.

Slow Horses is up and down. I am really enjoying the current season. At its worst it's meh at its best it's great. One cool thing: they do not give an F about killing off regular characters.

I might be late to the discussion but we finally started watching Money Heist on Netflix. Really well done.

I bailed on Slow Horses an episode or two into the first season. But I'm going to go back and watch. I've heard good things and sometimes I bail too soon on a show.

The Americans is fantastic. Highly recommend.

I bailed halfway through the first episode of Severance. Then went back and watch all 9 episodes and it was one of my favorite series of 2022. Hopefully that's back in the first part of 2024. Season one took 9 months to film and then the strikes shut everything down for much of this year.

Was a fun cameo. So far solid season. It's fun seeing Reacher with his old army buddies, showing he can work as a team.

That was a great cameo. For a show that's fairly predictable (but great) that was a fun surprise.

The Americans is a masterpiece. But an investment.

Slow horses is solid but more digestible.

I absolutely loved the first season. Enjoyed Season 2 but it wasn't quite as good. I've heard the show kinda goes off the rails later on. It's a show I pick up and then put down for awhile.

Leave the World Behind was pretty fun. Cool to see it takes place in the same world as Mr. Robot.
