He should never be starting though, complete opposite of what we need from our starting sg.

i'm going to keep saying it until it happens.. but we need a younger version of Wes Matthews at 2 guard.

Who do you have in mind?
still learning the game

no idea.. i just think that's the skillset that we need. Giannis dapped Wes up just before the tipoff on Sunday against the Hawks. Wes was in street clothes. but i dont think there is much tread left on those tires.

Bucks RealGM three games into the season: OMG OUR PERIMETER DEFENSE IS AWFUL WHO COULD HAVE SEEN THIS COMING?

Also Bucks RealGM: I know there's no other realistic starter at the two right now, but still, AG SHOULD START SOMEONE ELSE.

Noone could predict our Rookie coach will let Giannis shoot 3s and play Dame off ball offense coming off screens, not bringing up the ball and filli the wings ... This is beyond stupid and I hope it is not accompanied with stubborness.

Where is the Giannis Dame pick n roll ?
Where are the 50 Giannis screens to Dame ?

I won’t be annoyed if Beasley starting is a short term measure until Beauchamp is ready to take over. I would give another full month to it, but I do expect Griffin pushing Marjon to 20ish minutes in the meantime and cutting some playing time from Beasley.

I also do expect AJJ getting his regular 16 minutes at some point during the season. Probably that happens after Marjon gets the starting nod. I get it that it has to be slow, but those guys have all the tools to become super valuable in a Lillard team.

On top of that Bucks will have an extra opportunity to inject some more youth next season with a late 20ish and an early 30ish pick. Bucks should absolutely focus on making all these NBA good rotational players instead of searching every year for washed minimum vets to contribute.

oh yeah.. i keep forgetting about Marjon. i dont know if he'll be mentally and emotionally ready for a deep finals run this season, but him snatching the SG spot would be huge. they tried him on Trae Young the other night and that was mostly a mistake. i'm not really sure what the answer is for a guy like Trae but it's not Marjon.

The rest of his career and these three games are enough for me. Beasley isn't near starter quality on top of being a terrible fit.

Beasley's on/off numbers are so hideous through 3 games that I wonder if they're a typo?

Our defense has actually been good when Beas sits. Whoever would have guessed this?

Even with this small sample size ... AJ Green does some pretty nice things on D too. I have seen him blocking out Centers, sacrificing his body on rebounds to position himself and secure the board for the team, contesting shots, in general keeping his opponent under control and keeping his composure.

I am still pissed Beasley passed the ball to Green at the 3pt line while defended closely with 0.7 seconds on the shot clock... Green missed it BUT Beasley on purpose declined Green's 3pt% instead of his own.

The battle for the SG will last long cause Griffin is a "defense" guy. It could really be the reason why we either figure it out and win a Championship or completely derail us and have another 1st round exit.

I’m not sure I’d have him playing at all, even as a bench guy. We have a several options that I’d rather have playing, really any of MarJon, Dre, AJ, and Pat.

Again I’ve tried to be optimistic about Griff but the decision to not just play but start Beasley next to Dame while burying Dre makes me seriously question his judgement/player evaluation.

What is this regarding?

Assistant coach being mad that he lost his job shouldn't be breaking news. We'll see soon enough if canning Bud was the right call.

I think it's telling that of the recent title winning teams who fired their coach shortly after(Nurse, Vogel, Bud) that the Front office of those same teams remained intact. GMs are able to build bonds and relationships with ownership are much less likely to be let go because of it. Not that I think Horst deserved to be fired, but I also didn't think Bud deserved to be fired either

It's also like, the job of the executives and owners to manage the org chart below them. Like, naturally they'd be the last to go, because of causality. They're either getting fired for hiring you or firing you, essentially. Either way, if they're going, you're going.

its a bigger deal than some random asst coach quitting. he was brought in to specifically babysit the forced hire of griffin by the players to make sure it didnt get sideways. as epi informed us stotts didnt even want to be an asst. we literally recruited him for this job.

he was horsts nanny mcphee.

or maybe he was the nanny before we get our actual nanny mcphee and thats why he quit but either way we need the nba coaching version of nanny mcphee on this team more importantly than figuring out the sg position or any other damn thing. at least thats become obvious

I looked at the on/off numbers and that’s brutual. -49.8 per 100 net for Beasily. More than doubles Brook.

Ignoring those with less than 10 mins played, AJ Green has the second best at a positive 49.1 and Midds is the best at 55.3. Cam and Bobby have also been positives.

Everyone else negative. I’m sure Dame and GA is due to adjusting to each other and getting their legs after no offseason.

I know it’s only three games and that Hawks game is skewing everything right now, but something to keep an eye on and it’s matching the eye test for most of us (Beasily awful, Brook not suited to be hedging/trapping/showing)
