• Though ESPN reported that LeBron James’ camp expects Dwyane Wade to end up with Cleveland if he reaches a buyout with the Bulls, a Wade associate has been telling people that Miami and Los Angeles are also appealing destinations for Wade.

Chicago media has reported recently that no Bulls buyout talks have happened yet with Wade, and it’s unclear when they will happen.

We would never profess to know what Wade is thinking; only Wade - for whom we have great respect - and those closest to him know that.

So we’re not attempting to mind-read Wade. But the person who mentioned Miami and L.A. to me was the same person who first alerted me to my scoop a few years ago that Wade’s negotiations with the Heat were not going well - the first time that information ever surfaced (and a year later, the sides divorced).

So food for thought.

Rockets selling for $2.2 billion is just another reminder that if the new arena doesn't generate the profits the owners expect (for whatever reason - team isn't that good, fans don't want to pay higher ticket prices, etc...), they could easily pay whatever penalty is needed to sell/move the team somewhere much more lucrative and still come out way ahead on their investment.

This take is straight from 2003 when we were all afraid that Kohl would eventually sell to Jordan, or some relocation minded ownership team. Lasry/Edens/Dinan don't exactly have Bernie Brewer tattoos, but they have massive money riding on the new stadium and their other developments in the area.

The Bucks are not going anywhere.

You mean outside of the fact that they are all but forbidden in the contract from doing so and would have to see it back for 575M (IIRC) nevermind paying off a lease that hasn't even started yet...

They might be kicking themselves for not moving to Seattle after seeing the valuations on these sales. But at this point they're in too deep in MKE and there's nothing to worry about for the foreseeable future. And they can sleep pretty well knowing their $550 mil could probably pull a billion pretty easily and it only took like 4 years for that to happen. Plus having a top 10 player at age 22 is further insurance on it.

I don't understand how anyone signs a marginal NBA player to 4/$52M contract. So strange.

MCW may be the only player in league history who peaked in his first career game.

Truly bizarre, although I'm pretty sure Tyreke had a similar fate with a great rookie season then just fell off the cliff. MCW hitting 3's, out rebounding Bosch, continuously intercepting LeBron was pretty epic, what a waste.

Have to wonder if these players went to stable franchises whether they would still be balling.

I wonder if it's guys playing loose, full of confidence. And in both those cases (and probably Jennings too) they kinda got to do their own thing to start with. Then they were expected to play within a structured team environment and their lack of a well-rounded game and/or basketball IQ really found them to struggle.

It's why the D'Angelo Russell situation will be interesting this year. He'll get to do what he wants, but will it result in wins in future seasons?

The penalty is having to sell the team back to the league for what they paid for it.

Plumdog was pure entertainment over those 20 games. Never worth even close to 4/50 but he was freakin awesome to watch combined with Gianiss.

Jennings finishing at the rim and MCW hitting 3's? If I remember correctly, Jennings almost had a triple double in his first career game as well. Moral of the story is that even the worst players have their moments of brilliance (see: Corey Brewer scoring 50). I see your Jennings 55-point game and raise you peak John Henson:
