People are enamored with Atkinson because he coached some teams of young players/also-rans to somewhat respectable records, but I won't necessarily assume coaching superstars to a championship takes the same skillet. For what it's worth Doc has done both and Atkinson hasn't.

Atkinson rode coattails to a chip as an assistant like Griffin did with Nurse. And like Griffin, that’s his greatest accomplishment to date. We have no time for uncertainty like that.

I like Atkinson but not the guy right now.

My guess is Prunty coaches tomorrow night. Doc, or whoever, takes the reigns at practice Thursday and debuts Friday night.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Doc is like Bud but worse at everything, more playoff baggage and throws his players under the bus

I mean, He had Simmons who deserved to be thrown under and in front of multiple buses.

Sure, but that's such a crazy improvement over Griffin.

I'll add that Doc seems to be a good leader of men and garners respect from his style. He has a system, this is all we need when we were without one all season. Now we hope that the talent can overcome all this mess, at least we have a chance now

People can rag on Doc for the Clippers teams all they want and I won't stand in the way, but those Philly teams were **** messes man.

When I mentioned to my kid the Bucks finally fired Griff, they immediately highlighted that it's pretty crazy you can say finally for a coach that didn't make it halfway through their first season on a team with a good record.

How did we get ourselves in this mess?

So Giannis…sounds like he lost faith in Bud and played a factor in that decision. And then all but forces the team to hire Griff over Nurse only to give up on him 43 games in.

Dude better ball out and fall in line for whoever they bring in or it’s not going to be a good look. Time to set some screens and start joining the team during timeouts.

Just now reading that Haynes piece with quotes from Griffin. Maybe I'm just reading into it too much but he actually comes off to me as somewhat relieved to be fired.

Doc is fine. He has similar postseason concerns to Bud, and I don't know that he's the strategic whiz Bud is, but he's also a pretty good pick to stabilize a messy locker room, and I don't think he'll make the team play with ankle weights. Overall a pretty big improvement relative to where we were this morning.

Stotts would’ve been a good coach but he already quit lmao
Bucks tricked me into being a diehard in 2001, LeBron is the 2nd best player ever, and pizza is awesome.

Can’t say where I heard this, and I don’t know if I can trust the source anyway, but one man who’s out there having coached stars and won chips. Bill Belichick.

Doc isn't a genius coach but the hate for him online is pure meme level. He's not that bad.

Docs thoughts on Bucks from the Simmons Pod

* This is a Finals team, they'll figure it out but it will take time

* First and foremost have to figure out how to play with Giannis and Dame

* Need to do more Dame/Giannis two-man game with Giannis used more as a screener/roller and a straight line driver

* At times ball could be thrown ahead more to Dame and should play more through Dame

* Being even better offensively will help the defense

* Giannis still has the ball a lot and is trying too hard sometimes to be a scorer

* Giannis/Dame are not always playing to make each other better

* Dame trying almost too hard to fit in, which will work itself out

* Need veteran guard help on the bench

* Don't have that lockdown guard, Dame just needs to be asked to be in the right spots on defense

I love this from Doc. Already more bball insight from a podcast snippet than all the word salad pressers Griffin gave as HC put together. Doc will make an immediate impact.
