It stings to read these comments from Kuzma and remember that he was brought in to replace Khris. What an impossible bar for him to clear.

Legitimate #2 on a championship team isn't the bar for Kyle Kuzma though. Being a solid 3rd-4th guy and doing all the little things required of a tertiary two-way player, is. At the very least he just needs to play himself back into being a positive asset that's able to be flipped this summer at the earliest. Playing next to Giannis and Dame, that's not a huge ask.

yes,.. agree!!
we werent going to get a legitimate #2 on a championship team for what we had available. you cant trade a largely unavailable player on an expensive non expiring contract.....a player with no league wide value.....that no other contender sees as a viable asset......
youre not going to shop khris for a legitimate #2
we could maybe convince ourselves butler or lavine might have been that guy but imagine what else we would have given up. the deal would not have put us under the apron and wed have literally nothing left.
i love the joe smith analogy. we need him to be just a basic solid contributor. i guy who just competes hard in a way that makes us a wee bit better. 13/6 with some solid effort on defense. 30-35 minutes of typical mediocre starting action for most playoff teams would be golden. if giannis is out then have some chucking wannabe allstar nights.
if he gives us that then we win the deal by a mile.
the rest of it is on dame/giannis to figure out who we are with a more consistent lineup. this **** is up to them now

Right, it's going to be about his shot selection ... I feel like maybe Giannis and Dame can keep that in check but idk how his attitude is yet. If he buys in to the system he'll be fine.. that's why having him in screen packages will be good because it keeps him downhill and involved

Imagine he dedicated himself to be an ak-47 for us... just get numbers all over....knowing that Dame and GA shoulder the burden.. knowing that if we win and he's on the floor for his hustle his reputation improves... we ask him for it maybe he delivers

Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas
Any word on the asset SA sent in the Baldwin payoff. Is it like a top 55 protected pick? We've had one of those actually payoff before. I ask because we sent a lot of cash in the trade.
GSW did the same kind of deal with Indiana last year, sent extra cash, and bought a late 2nd from the Pacers.
Then GSW used that pick on one of my favorites, Quentin Post. He's now their backup center and was promoted from a 2 way to their 15 man roster today. That's winning on the edges.
If we had done the same when we sold Robin last year, we'd have a possible Brook replacement in house.

Honestly, 19 out of 20 nights, you know what you're getting from Giannis. The team goes as Dame goes.

he just needs to come in and play hard and unselfishly. thats it
there was no team altering trade out there that was going to bring back the glory days of when we got spoiled with being the vegas odds on title favorite **** we saw under bud. thats gone. that doesnt exist for us anymore. were never going to play a series and not be pins and needles ever again. not against anybody so lets embrace that.
but... with dame and giannis and some decent tryhards that actually can make it healthy into the playoffs then maybe we can make a run.
win...maybe even god forbid command a first round series
then sneak out a win in the next one in a 7 game nail biter where giannis makes all his fts and dame makes a pact with the devil
move on to upset somebody in the conference finals because we all make a pact with the devil in the brew district
goof around and win it all because the brackets worked out and joker or shai do their ankle like kyrie.
finally all repent then party version 2.0
how about lets just put a team together that can go in healthy for once and win a first round playoff series. it been awhile ffs....so lets make that the goal. ONE SERIES!
what comes next after that who actually gives a ****.

Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas
I’m good with Kuz if he can just rebound, sometimes stay in front of his man on D, and not take dumb shots/be a liability on offense. Same expectations for KPJ, except insert bring the ball up in place of rebound. It would also be nice if they both got up and down the court using their younger legs.
They don’t need them to raise their ceiling. They need them to raise their floor so they stop dropping games to bad teams.
Their ceiling is entirely decided by how Dame plays in the playoffs and Giannis being available in the playoffs. If those two are healthy and going off, they can compete with anyone.

Give Rollins a four year non guaranteed deal with the open roster spot then cut Livingston to sign Bones, assuming they stay under the second apron with those moves and there’s no unlikely bonuses floating out there that would out them over the second apron.
I’m assuming Bones is at least okay on D. Anyone know?

It would be cool if they cut Livingston, but only to pick up a more promising youngster. Also time to fill our 2 way spots with younger, more promising players.
Way too early to give up on Livingston. He has the potential to be a complete player. He's already made some strides. I'd play him some minutes in the regular season, but apparently that isn't going to happen.
This is where things just get jumbled in your analysis. You view Livingston as too valuable to cut and disregard Kuz as garbage basically... but Kuz already is better now than Livingston's whole ceiling will ever likely be. If in 2 years Livingston is as good as Kuz is now (he has a ring as a main rotation player and was a 1st or 2nd best player on his last team) the whole NBA will sh*t their pants. Imagine Livingston becoming a 1st or 2nd best player on any NBA team.. it's highly unlikely and Kuzma already did that.
In that same light... we lost AJJ - promising young PG - while gaining KPJ who also is very likely better now than AJJs ceiling will end up.. if AJJ ever scores 50 in a game, the whole NBA will sh*t their pants... we have to start being even when evaluating talent of our own players compared to players we obtain.
You aren't really comparing Livingston to Kuzma are you? Do I have to explain why I hold a 10 year vet who is supposed to be a Khris replacement to a late second rounder to a different standard?
