He's already a Top 25 all-timer if he never picks up a ball again. Another MVP (3rd in 4 seasons) alone vaults him toward Top 15 territory. DPOY again and we're talking approaching Hakeem/Moses territory, especially if he couples it somehow with a scoring title. a 2nd title and Finals MVP and he's arguably right next to the aforementioned legends and knocking on Duncan's door.

That being said, don't want to get too far ahead of anything. But the MVP (and apparently scoring title) are within sight and would easily vault him up some spots.

I wonder if at the All-Star game they're going to do a similar celebratory show with the living members of the Top 75 club and have them all on the court together. Imagine the lulz having Gianni somehow standing next to AD and Harden.

One thing that we don't talk about much is that if Giannis never played basketball again, he would still be a NBA HOFer.

Love Giannis mindset
"I get upset when I miss free throws," Antetokounmpo said. "Like, I work too hard. I love when I make my free throws. It gives me rhythm, it makes me feel good. I can miss every 3, I can miss a layup, but when I make my free throws it's like my dopamine hit because I work extremely hard to make them.

Weird how the nba likes to separate regular season/playoff stats. We all know that was Giannis' 4th 50 point game but I keep seeing it being his 3rd (first since 2019). I don't get why they do that.

Isnt this kind of the norm for every sport though?

According to ESPN, the MVP is down to a two player race.

After Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid battled for the right to be named the NBA's Most Valuable Player all last season, it appears this year's chase for the award could once again come down to the two All-Star big men.

Embiid, after coming in second to Jokic in last year's voting, holds a 35-point lead over the Denver Nuggets' reigning MVP in the second edition of ESPN's NBA MVP Straw Poll for the 2021-22 season. Embiid's razor-thin edge is the closest the top two spots have been over the nine iterations of this poll over the past six seasons.

The Philadelphia 76ers center, who had 45 first-place votes and finished with 789 total points, was the only player selected to all 100 ballots submitted. Jokic, meanwhile, finished with 43 first-place votes and had 754 points -- while being left off of five ballots completely.

Had Jokic simply been in second place on each of those five ballots, the two superstar centers would've been in a tie.

Embiid winning MVP ahead of both Jokic and Giannis would be an all-time embarrassment for the league voters at this point. And I say this while being both a big Embiid fan and acknowledging how incredible of a year he's having. It's just that those other two are putting up historical outlier seasons (yet again).

A dominant performance tonight in a win over Philly will go a long way in muddying the narrative. Which is funny that the Bucks are ahead of Philly.

Plus the Bucks may just go on a strong run post ASB to move up to 1st seed.

https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/giannis-antetokounmpo-is-committing-fewer-charges-but-hes-just-as-aggressive/

Giannis Antetokounmpo is usually a cool customer on the court. But during the 2020 NBA bubble, in a game against the Washington Wizards, his emotions got the best of him. Moe Wagner drew a charge call on the Milwaukee Bucks superstar, and he responded by headbutting Wagner — leading to just the second suspension of his career.

After that game, Wizards coach Scott Brooks admitted that a key part of Washington’s strategy was to frustrate Antetokounmpo by forcing him into charges. “That’s what you have to do,” Brooks said. “You’ve gotta drop off and force him to shoot. He can drive, [you] step up and take a charge.”

Charges have always been a part of Antetokounmpo’s game. He has led the league in charges committed three years in a row, and he’s on pace to make it a fourth. But though he’s still out-charging everyone else in the league, he’s been doing it differently: He’s committing the foul at his lowest rate since the 2016-17 season. His personal count of 15 through Tuesday is only one ahead of second-ranked Jusuf Nurkić of the Portland Trail Blazers; last year, he finished 12 charges ahead of the next-highest player.1 And Antetokounmpo has been charging less and less frequently since he won his first MVP, back in the 2018-19 season.

Yeah, rings/MVPs are so rare it moves anyone up really quickly. As you said, Giannis went from ~60 -> Top 25 and could go 25->top 12 but any player getting a ring and MVP would make them jump. Hell, Hoops hype probably flips Harden (#39) and Giannis (#24) on their ranking last year if the Nets win last year.

It takes an extreme amount of luck and skill to get them both. Last year was special due to all the adversity, but that adversity makes it so fragile. A toe there, a non-Hammy injury from Harden, a knee injury to Giannis, a foul from Jrue on the steal, etc. Any small thing and suddenly Giannis is barely Top 50 all time (for now) and people are questioning if he ever wins any ring. Honestly, I would argue is is more likely Giannis never wins another ring with the Bucks than it is that he does. Even as favorites this year, I don't give us more than a 25% chance of winning.

ETA: went on a long rant only to realize that I thought OP said MVP AND title. MVP is much more realistic and within Giannis's control compared to a title.

There's guys like KG and Hakeem in a lot of people's Top-15 and those guys have as many combined MVP's as Giannis does. I think KG gets hella overrated by the analytics crowd, but if he's a Top-20 guy then Giannis certainly already is as well.

3p % up to 304 now. Wonder if he can get it to 330 by seasons end. He usually shoots better in the 2nd half.
still learning the game

Take out the ones he shoots when he is tired right before he sits on the bench to get a breather and he is already there.
