Cautiously excited about this one; just hope it's not AAA visual/presentation with shallow execution. It otherwise looks like if Fallout was made by a competent studio (yeah I said it).

Last Epoch has been dark for like nine months. Not that EHG had folded - I knew they were working on things - but they really stepped back to focus on "big changes" after feedback from the community. I was skeptical it would be forgotten.

They still need to deliver, mind you, but holy ****. They were cookin'.

Was excited to pickup PGA 2k25 today but going to hold off. Got some unexpected medical expenses that I need to address before picking up a new game.

Sticking with COD/Warzone for the time being. That game is in such a terrible state though!

I’ve gone back to Teamfight Tactics and have been having fun. Thinking of grabbing KCD 2 this weekend for something different.

Haven't had a chance to play yet, but it sounds like my decision to pick up Wilds on PS5 instead of PC was a good one. PC performance is reportedly a nightmare (which was my beta experience, too).

KCD2 has held my interest far longer than any game as of late. Had to adjust to the much slower pace, but I find it actually calming and enjoyable. Like no game I’ve played and I have been really taking my time.

I love KCD2. It might go down as one of my favorite RPGs of all-time.

I don't like the combat at all but it's been easy enough to just spam R2 and not worry about any of the directional BS.

But everything else is just so top notch. Story's been interesting, side quests are meaty.

I've been taking my time and I only just got to the main city for the first time last night before I shut it off.

Overall, an early GotY frontrunner.

That said, I just jumped over to Monster Hunter. Not intending on playing it much right now, maybe tonight and tomorrow before jumping back to KCD2. I just wanted to see what's up with MH.

My first impression was the sound. This is the first game I can remember auto-switching to my Atmos setup. It sounds so freaking good.

Loving Wilds so far, but only a few hours in. I switched to bow for the first time since I bounced off of it when I first picked MH up; absolutely love it now.

+1 on everything re: KCD2 being incredible and GOTY frontrunner.

Wilds is great so far. I think I'm halfway-ish through low rank and I think the difficulty is fine for me. While I haven't carted (died) at all yet, I think the fights have been challenging enough. I think someone new to the series would have carted several times in some of these fights. And from what I hear, high rank is delivering the difficulty that veterans were expecting.

My biggest issue is that they shoved a bunch of really dumb story into my game about bonking things on the head :( The writing is painfully bad - which is fine and I don't expect any story, but I don't know why it's even there. I don't need story cutscenes.

Bought KCD2 and played a few hours this weekend. My god, the number of systems in this game. And I really suck at the combat.

My friend called it a medieval simulator and that’s pretty accurate.

Cancelled my order after seeing many discuss the VC reduction that allows very little to be earned.

Pretty sure 2K patched that already, no?

EDIT: Nvm, think I'm mistaken

Hopefully they fix that because the gameplay is incredible

Unsure. Didnt follow along once that update occurred. Will pick it up later on a sale, most likely. Was planning day 1 purchase but I'm tired of consumers being crapped with greed.

Combat is hard early, make sure you learn the master strike and get better armor and it gets way easier. I just killed some snoozing bandits and stole their stuff helped alot.

So just got through the prologue and released into the first town area. The first thing I want to do is go get my dog, but I’m guessing it’s nearly impossible to do so before building up my character?

Enjoying MHR rise fine. Finally finished the stupid story missions and I'm anxious for the real game to begin. It was incredibly easy and boring, even as someone who isn't anyone's definition of a good MH vet. If you're going to have a bunch of easy story missions it would have been nice to have some kind of variety and perhaps some that force you to learn their various mechanics like traps and slinger ammo. My entire 15 or so trek was spent doing virtually the same thing every time: hit spots, do attack on glowing area, repeat.

lol and the very first mission post-credits does this.
