The deal remains an absolute abomination. The selling of potential Luka work ethic problems leading to availability issues occuring now or future is just so unreal when the guy you wanted is unavailable now for a month after a single 31 minute debut and historically it is pretty hard to sell his missed games as anything other than a lot, a lot. Even in the bubble wrap era, the era where we decided missing 17 games is reasonable for an award eligibility, the era in which a single game in a week is also a good game to rest because then you get a full week, in that era A guy like Davis has been ineligible an awful lot applied to the career. Luka has just one season so far where he wouldn't have been. Maybe I missed the hand wringing on Luka because I was too busy tracking an absolute text book example in Zion. Or blown away by the Embiid having played about half of his 800 or so games. You don't want to get caught having to sell low but man this remains inexplicable before you even get to the returning pieces.

The Hoop Collective podcast last night was interesting.

Tim McMahon was starting down conspiracy alley and wondering how this terrible deal could be foisted on the Mavericks, with the Lakers as beneficiary. You could tell Windy then tried to tamp the discussion down. ESPN can't be peddling Laker conspiracy theories.

Khris was going to fail on any type of physical test too.
It hurts to see go but it hurts more to seeing him struggling moving laterally. Salute Khris, you did alot
more than expected and won a Championship.

I feel sorry for the Mavs fans.
AD getting injured on his 1st game after putting up record braking stats in the 1st half is karma hitting back for the betrayal

I understand Khris is salty about the trade but I'm surprised he didn't release some kind of statement thanking the fans and the city. He was here 11+ years. The fans didn't trade him and he was always a fan favorite.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I don't see how he could possibly turn that player option down so I think he might have to bide his time, hopefully get a healthy offseaon for once, and hope to get a trade to a contender next year as an expiring contract.

I really want to hear if there was any discussion on a contract extension with him and the Bucks.

I'm guessing no. If the Bucks liked him enough to talk extension they wouldn't have traded him. Unless they were lowballing him. But given his recent history and turning 34 this summer he almost has to pick up that option. And if he wants to play after that it will be on much smaller one year deals. I wouldn't be surprised if he retires after next season. I don't think he does it now, he's not walking away from $34 million.

Yeah there is no way Khris is opting out so he can play on a contender to start next season. Probably opts in and hopes to get traded or bought out for 2nd half of next season. Too much money left on table for games he’d probably load manage anyway.

That’s my thought as well but I always wondered if part of the reason he didn’t come back sooner is because his contract situation wasn’t settled.

Seeing Luka in the yellow Laker uni is bizarre.

It’s still a horrible trade but Luka does look even fatter and slower to me.

Luka pulling a legit Gilbert Arenas/Steve Francis would be the funniest plot twist in all of this.

Adam Silver got what he needed out of the trade deadline. Big market Lakers and Warriors might be able to take down OKC in the WCF.

Lol...

That Warriors team isnt beating okc. If we had Giannis last night thats a whole different game. They have a puncher's chance but barely.

And that irritates me even more really. Golden State had no business trading for Butler. They had one all time great and a bunch of role players. We at least have Giannis and Dame. Adding Jimmy would have been massive.

Instead, he goes to Golden State and they are a frisky team that is going nowhere

Daniel Shite is an anagram of Daniel Theis. Have fun in Morocco and take Kelly Olynik (sp?) with you.

Mavs owners/front office have no shame. Kicking out fans because they said fire Nico is weak.
