choosing maryland over WI when you're from Milwaukee, the Badgers are about to go back to back final 4, and you will come right in and start is just a bizarre choice.

It almost has to be. I realize it sounds really arrogant to say that but like you said: in-state kid, the program is as successful and relevant as its ever been, and they rolled out the red carpet for him to walk in and start from Day 1 by not having anyone else on the roster over 6'8". I don't normally care about a recruit this much but if he really straight up chose Maryland over UW that is a giant "F U" to Wisconsin like I haven't seen in awhile.

Pretty shocked at that. Stone would have clearly developed better here in terms of NBA than he will at Maryland. Grades were part of the issue, I know that for a rock solid source, but I don't want to pin it all on that until I talk to him again, which may be a while.

Not landing either Ellenson or Stone is brutal though.

top recruits in recent years to leave their home-state (i'm sure i'm missing some):
jerry smith to louisville
lucious to MSU
tokoto to UNC
looney to UCLA

not a lot of success here in terms of NBA careers/ projected NBA careers (obviously jury still out on looney)

I mean Stiemsa has had more NBA success...

it's been shown historically that you do well at WI, you'll get drafted. I just don't get it

I think Kerb alluded to it b4 as well, but now is the perfect time for Bo to reconsider his hard-line philosophy on not accepting grad transfers. Last time I checked Russell Wilson was one, and he didn't work out too bad for the football program.

Gotta get creative if we don't want to lose this momentum as a national power. Happ is a power forward. He can't match up with 5's on most "blue bloods" and many other major teams right now like Purdue, or now Maryland.

Yeah, if we are relying on Vitto at C next year C and SG are major question marks.

Hurts to not get him, but this kid is a one and done swag guy. Wisconsin and Stone just wasn't a comfortable fit for either party.

All in all it's just a-nother kick in the balls.

It's fitting because Brit Floyd is playing at the Riverside right now.

Looney/Ellenson/Stone. Badgers go 0 for 3. Disappointing.

That can't be accurate...

Pretty depressing tho, Wisconsin can't touch the best players even in this state it seems even coming off a final four run and at least elite eight this year.

Really can't understand how you choose Maryland over UW, besides UA. Baffling. Hope we crush them next year.

I'm pretty sure you get a 13 for just writing down your name on the ACT
