Have you tried Steamworld Quest yet? It’s getting great reviews. I haven’t play any other Steamworld games but I might try this one.

Looks like Borderlands 2 with new types of guns. I'm not saying it's a bad thing - nor am I saying there are specific gameplay enhancements I had in mind - but still worth noting IMO.

I mean, I'll be getting it anyways and I look forward to more BL. I just wish it wasn't only more of the same.

I didn't really get that at all. Environmental destruction, skill tree mods, alternate fire modes, ultra detailed animations and environments. Looks like serious upgrades and additions all around.

?????

I am missing something. Surely you didn't pick that up from a 3 minute trailer. Is there something in addition to what was posted?

I'll have to look around more tonight after work.

Ohhh yea then you missed a lot. I watched the whole hour long presentation by Randy Pitchfork at noon today. As much as I've been disappointed in the lack of substance shown leading up to today, I was drooling with what I saw in just some early game footage at level 1 and then at level 10.

This gameplay looks so much more fluid compared to BL2, seems to run great, the player movement has been modernized, graphics look incredible, cover can be destroyed, ways to kill enemies with the environment with throwing explosive or poison barrels (13:25 of the video shows a great demonstration of this), humor seems to be on point, UI is much better, itemization is said to be deeper and more rewarding, no more lost loot (mailbox / lost and found is in sanctuary), player quarters that can be modified, game seems much bigger (you can visit different planets), individual loot on co-op if you want to use it, co-op level balancing, etc.

Ooooh, this makes so much more sense. I didn't hear about a broadcast today, so I saw you mention gameplay footage then someone posted a trailer and I thought that was it. I didn't know why that made you horny

I'll check out the broadcast replay tonight.

For whatever reason I just cannot get into games anymore. I'll play them, but I just don't get the joy I used to and it seems like I'm only playing to pass the time. I only got about 12 hours into Division 2, 1 hour into Jurassic World, 7 or so in AC: Odyssey, Far Cry 5 was short lived, Apex Legends was fun for a week or two. No games get me all hot and bothered like you guys just experienced.

I still play a ton every week, but I find myself playing 40 minutes of Cities Skylines, 30 of PUBG, 30 of Overwatch and eventually just going and walking around the house. It's making me sad.

I'll go through phases with gaming - I'll play intensely for 2-3 months, and then drop it for 2-3 months, and then pick it back up. Right now, I'm back playing FIFA. It all depends on my mood and whether I have enough time.

Witcher 3 complete yay or nay? Always hear so many good things about it.

It's on sale for $14.99 on the psn store.

Not sure if I'd enjoy it though. What does it compare to?
It seems interesting but I still have so much left in Odyssey plenty of other titles I could finally start.

It's an amazing game, and also a huge one. If you like open world RPGs (which Odyssey basically is), this is one of the best, and the story and side quests are miles better than most.

I think the game is the most fun on a harder difficulty, because a lot of cooler aspects of the combat systems aren't really necessary on easy/normal.

I'm actually thinking of getting back into it for a second play. It's so good.

I am one of the "haters", and I would still recommend it at $15. Hell, I'd recommend it at full price, even today. I don't hold it in quite the same regard as others, but it truly is a beautiful world with incredible writing. I also thoroughly enjoyed the card game. I think I played over 50 hours and got about halfway through.

My issues are with the combat. It's just personally not my cup of tea. The magic system and spells themselves are constricting/not my preference to what I prefer to have in an RPG. I was playing a character I just didn't enjoy.

But I also think the restriction is what enables the story and lore to be so strong. It's build specifically for this character, abilities, and play style, as opposed to a game being built around the possibility of the PC being any class, race, religion. It's a tradeoff.

That's my 10,000-foot review.

My concern comes as I'm not a deep rpg user I don't have much experience with them. I generally stick to the Uncharted, GTA, Battlefield and sports titles. Division 1 & 2 also have gotten a lot of coop time.

I get certain vibes when I see videos.

I see parts of Oddysey
I see parts of Horizon Zero Dawn
I see parts of Skyrim

Skyrim I didn't care for but the other 2 I absolutely love. I'm also very far off on comparisons due to lack of experience with games of it's kind.
