I think Lowry means more to the Raptors than trading him for scrap parts. He's their franchise guy. Wouldn't shock me if he was there until he retires.

I wonder if he’s so much their franchise guy they’d be willing to make some type of “Do right by Kyle” deal to put Lowry in a good situation to compete for a title for the last couple years of his career. He just doesn’t seem like the type who’d want to be/you’d want on a tanking team. Who knows though, maybe they retool and try to win again.

I would consider but I really believe DDV is going to have a big season next year. I guess you would make this trade because you don't think that highly of him as others.

If you knew that he would average something like 12, 4, 4 in 25 minutes with 35%+ from 3 while being a near elite defender, would you make this trade? (Not saying he is going to do this but IF he did)

How? If OKC is trading CP3 it is to get out from under that contract. We would need to offer up contracts that save them money. Even if we need to attach young assets, we have DDV, #24, and a 2022 1st.

Real talk.

I really don’t think the rest of the league values Donte all too highly. He’s our one “young” player who doesn’t completely suck, so I think we’re projecting a bit on to him.

To an outsider he’s a soon to be 24 year old small SG who can defend but has a streaky shot and shaky handle without a clear/obvious path to becoming a starter.

There’s a litany of guys out there like him. Most teams have 2 or 3 right now because they don’t draft complete turds with every first round pick. If he were on another team, his value on this board would be nil.
Please reconsider your animal consumption.

Yes, 35%+ is not enough, I demand 38-42% 3p shooting on Giannis Team. I don't care about regular season stats any more, all I think about is that Heat's perimeter killed our "elite" defenders ... I think him and Bledsoe being so small, really doesn't affect good shooters that much to make a difference. Dragic ,Duncan Robinson and Herro just destroyed us

Donte was a very good player pre bubble. Most teams in the league most definitely did not have 3 guys who could defend as well as he did and also shoot and handle a bit and make solid decisions with the ball. Don’t think it was him “not completely sucking”, he was actually just a very good player in his first healthy year in the league.

He regressed in the bubble, it is what it is. Bucks fans’ optimism and higher valuation of him was reasonable based on what he was doing pre bubble. Outsiders being lower on him probably stems from them only really watching the Bucks in the playoffs, which again Donte regressed in the bubble.

Are you saying he’s a shorter, Delaware accented Garrett Temple?

I’m a POR and I like his game. He looks like a high end roleplayer next to a ball dominant star.

I think his value is just below Gary Trent Jr but others might disagree.

Donte's great and half my trades are about trying to get more guys like him. He's certainly not going to be the centerpiece of a trade where we get an all star... part of what makes him so desirable for people like me is that he's good at things that aren't properly valued, so he's likely going to always be worth more on the court than in the trade machine or a contract negotiation.

If only he could finish his drives with layups lol.

Yeah, it's pretty simple, every statistical measuring system says he's really good. It's not just one metric

Donte is really good, and will be the starting SG next year. He couldn't have a more clear path to starting. He was outstanding in game 5, as a starter.

Yet he still made 57% of his 2 point attempts.

How do we value Lowry vs CP3?

Lowry is 34, Paul is 35.

Lowry has an ending deal and could walk for nothing after one season. Or he could be extended / resigned at a reasonable rate if he’s game to commit to Milwaukee.

Paul has an additional year locked in at a stupid high contract. But if he could play comparably to what he did this past season over the life of the deal it wouldn’t be so bad.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
