Thanks, I hate it.

She looks dope, but her moves are terrifying. The snake thing makes me shiver.

The wiggling thing on the ground is more upsetting than anything MK has come out with in 30 years.

Starfield preloaded, opens up tonight at 7pm. Put the kids to bed, grab some beer and snacks, maybe smoke a little, and play till I can't keep my eyes open. I've boarded the hype train and I'm not getting off.

Sure sounds like playing Starfield involves a whole lot of tedium.

Yea, listening to the reviews biggest complaints I could see them getting tiring. The map issue will be fixed by mods, as will inventory, and I don't really care I can fast travel to most maps without seeing the ship take off. The beginning is going to be a bit of a slog sounds like. But hearing that there are good parts is big for me.

I hope it’s enjoyable but i would probably never play it if I didn’t get it free. Bethesda relying on moders to do free work and fix their game is a tale as old as time and I’m not supporting it anymore

It took me too long to realize Bethesda games are just not for me, and that's fine. Hope Starfield is sweet, and the folks its for have a blast.

I'm installed. I love TES, Morrowind is a top 3 game ever for me, but fallout was never really my thing as much. Im stoked though.

I suspect I’ll pick it up sometime next year on sale when some stuff is worked out and modders get a hold of it. Hard to deny myself an open Bethesda world that isn’t utterly busted.

Starfield is dope. The combat is surprisingly good, I just went AR Pistol and an axe in one fight and for Bethesda it was incredible.

Not a spoiler so much as a VERY good tip:

I enjoyed my first hour and a half with Starfield. I went Cyberneticist and can't remember what traits. It looks amazing, combat is actually pretty fluid considering all I've done is the base guns, and the story seems interesting to start.

My biggest complaint though, it doesn't support ultrawide 32:9...so I have two black bars on either side. Oh well, there are already workarounds I'm just too lazy to do.

I can easily see myself putting in a ton of time into the game. I think when the modder community gets going the potential is massive.

Edit: spent some time on reddit and IGN just reading the comments. My lord, people want this to fail and fail hard. And people had completely misguided ideas with what the game was. I'm glad I just assumed it would be like every other Bethesda game because it's pretty damn spot on.

One of the main complaints is that it really isn't open. You spend a lot of time using the UI to visit the next destination while looking at loading screens.

It's a REALLY overblown complaint.

I get it if you wish it were more like No Man's Sky, where it's sorta seamless going from the surface to space and back to the surface again. Starfield isn't that.

But where this game excels is respecting the time of the player. I can go from getting a mission to landing at my destination on a planet in a star system I haven't explored yet in about 10 seconds. I feel like I'm absolutely flying through this game because it feels like there's no time wasted and you can very quickly complete tasks. Starfield is extremely good at letting you know where you have to go, and then getting you there extremely fast.

So far my only complaint is the usual one: I'm always on the verge of carrying too much stuff. That said, I haven't yet gotten my head around the fact that there's always a pack mule companion next to me, and I have a ship I can store stuff on.

Speaking of, I've already found a new Legendary ride, one that came with a lot of extra containers and a damn armory.

Haven't yet touched crafting or gastronomy. Haven't built any outposts. Haven't tried my hand at building a ship. I have come upon a bunch of really cool and powerful stuff that I won't spoil, though.

Good to hear it's been a good experience!

I think the plant thing will bother me, but definitely not enough to avoid it entirely. If you can just show-up on a planet suddenly I feel like my head will just connect it all as one world instead of having that feeling of actually going to one of the thousand planets.

I really have no idea, though. Will have to try it out. Someday :P

Im level 12 still enjoying it. Skyrim in space is basically what the game is. Combat is better though by far.
