I mean, sure he is (he's not the only answer but he'd be one of them). No doubt in my mind that with Bud's defensive system plus Dame this team has dynasty potential. But it's not realistic at this point, so it's irrelevant.

Are you sure he'd turn down the offer to return for Dame & a raise?

I could see a Bobby Portis/Nikola Mirotic style scuffle happening soon if the change in practice style to more trash talking is really the case. Losing will not sit well.

Lets not get to that point.

My biggest issue with the Griffin hire was the fundamental misunderstanding of why we lost in the playoffs most years. In 3 of the 5 playoffs under Bud we had the top DRTG as a team. In that famous Boston series we held them to 105.57 ppg which would have ranked 24th that season. Sure you can say last year the defense was a big problem, but before that we never lost because our defense was bad, it was almost always because of our lack of offense. So to fire Bud who had run some of the most successful playoff defenses in NBA History and to replace him with another defense first coach was flabergasting to me.
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

I don't think Beasley starting is a crazy proposition in general. It's not a good one -- the other options are better -- but I can understand wanting to put a quick trigger shooter on the floor. The problem is how much they're asking from him on both ends. Like, if you were playing Pat and having him run offense out of DHOs, and then having him defend high on the floor, it wouldn't be going a *ton* better. The communication would be better and the offensive flow would be better when Pat/Malik didn't have the ball. But the on ball stuff would still be noted as death by misadventure.

It's the vision. What the role of that fifth starter should be. He's as close to Jrue's level of responsibility as he is to Grayson. It's no wonder it's not going well. We are really struggling in rotation but it's so much harder to rotate in time when your point of attack guy is getting beaten clean (or your closeouts are sloppy or nobody knows where their help is, but Beasley isn't the only guy being afflicted by these things).

i dont think it would work with brook

Definitely tracks with the eye test. Its scheme AND personnel.

It aint personnel when you've got Giannis and Brook on your roster. I'll say that much.

Spanish paper says we offered Sergio Scariolo, former Raps assistant Champion run and current Spanish national coach, a contract to replace Stotts. Hopefully he's good - if he takes the job.

I think we have to trade Lopez. He's just not going to be very playable against the top teams. Even if he's playing drop coverage it won't work against the bigs that can shoot.

How's Alec Burks considered on D? Good enough to go with Dame? Det has a lot of young guys to be playing his mins as the season goes on. Expiring contract, won't be easy to cobble together quite enough salary but its possible.

I'm a bit worried about the role players on this team as well. Jae and Pat look cooked to me so far (as well as last year)

I'm not making any trades until Griffin either A) installs any semblance of a coherent basketball system/philosophy, or B) he's gone. The worst thing we can possibly do this early is double-down on the kind of players he thinks will magically fix things and instead end up jettisoning actual good players that he simply can't figure out how to use properly.

No way should we be letting Griffin run out any players. If he even suggests it to Horst then it should be crystal clear to Horst that Griffin is a bum. That being said, I have doubts about Lopez still being an effective rim protector. Seems like every player can get their body into him and get a pretty easy shot off lately.

Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid being on top teams happens to make Brook Lopez very necessary.

George Karl got rid of prime Ray Allen to get his guy GP for a year. Let’s see how AG will screw us.

Not that we locked up Giannis to a new deal we can fire AG. "It's real simple Giannis, if you want to win like you always say you do then lets us pick the coach this time and start protecting the rim on EVERY possession..." Signed Jimmy & Wes

I'm open to moving Brook but definitely not as any sort of lifeline for my drowning head coach.
