So cool to see all the process driving by it everyday. Any word on when the naming rights are going to be announced? I know they originally said by the end of this year but don't think that's going to happen. Whoever ends up buying the rights is losing out a lot of publicity with this arena going up and the constant coverage of it.

No doubt.

I can't help but think about the banners that will be hung in the area that we are watching right there.

Mentioned this a couple pages back and in another thread. It's a Sprint Center clone.

Does anyone with any knowledge of construction know what those rectangular holes in the ground directly east of the arena are for?

Being Greek It never ceases to amaze me how flimsy these things look
In Greece because of all the friggin earthquakes, everything is concrete reinforced with iron bars, and foundations go nearly as deep in the ground as buildings are high. When I first got to Australia I had a nervous laughter for days when looking at the constructions people live and work in :D

I'm guessing not many earthquakes in Wisconsin, right? or hurricanes?

I've always wanted to experience one...just one. I also want to see a tornado from a safe distance.

I guess you get kinda used to it after a while, but it depends on the magnitude as well... some are scarier than others. And louder.

Tornadoes are very rare. The main threat from mother nature is snow/ice in WI.

We get earthquakes very rarely, like maybe once ever 20-25 years and they're never more than like a 3.5 and they're usually not even close to that. Just no fault lines close enough to make any dent here.

Hurricanes too. The only thing we get from those is rain and it has to be strong enough to actually make its way that far north. If it's not a category 4 or 5, the rain isn't coming anywhere near us.

We get several tornadoes a year but those are usually inland and not very strong.

3.5 occur every other week in Greece. Good for you though, in the past the big ones levelled whole cities evert 25-30 years.

In partnership with the Wisconsin Entertainment and Sports Center, Alderman Cavalier Johnson will host a town hall meeting this Thursday, January 26 at 5:30 p.m. for residents who are interested in learning more about family-supporting careers that will be available at the new Milwaukee Bucks arena.

Nearest high danger earthquake zone to Wisconsin is the New Madrid Seismic Zone in southern Missouri. It shifts less frequently than those on the west coast; but historically, it's been one of the most violent.

I will be interested to see how much American Family is paying to be the first Summerfest sponsor. Currently individual stages are sponsored but Summerfest will now be known as "Summerfest presented by American Family Insurance." Additionally American Family will be the sponsor of the new Amphitheater. The Marcus is being torn down and rebuilt on the same spot. Same capacity of 23,000. The Marcus is a decent venue but trying to get a beer or food or use the bathroom is horrible. Supposedly that will be much better in the new place.

I guess how much the Bucks get for naming rights doesn't really matter, the financing is done. It's more of who it will be.
