**** this lame ownership group, they've made nothing but bad moves since they got here. Inheriting Giannis is the only thing saving them.

Signing Lopez last year was dumb. Trading for George Hill was dumb.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

I won't hold my breath but it would be nice if Milwaukee journalists hold Horst's feet to the fire about the luxury tax. For a team in championship contention, it is ridiculous that it would limit the team from getting better. billionaires!

They are probably trying to keep the bottom line clean in case they decide to sell the team in the next few years. Lots of reasons for this. I’d bet they sell in the next 5 years.

Wait, why hold Horst's feet to the fire and not ownership? I think its very clear that ownership is cheap with a capital C.

Again, they're in line to be paying the luxury tax next season. Now, if they somehow duck that with all our big ticket salaries (like, dump Khris or Bledsoe or Hill for salary purposes) then I'll get fired up.

The entire Brogdon transaction, really, if we lost the TPE. Not only did we lose a starter, but we don't have the means to add talent without using salary on our end, and all of our rostered salary of any consequence is now tied up in rotational players. So we lose a significant family of options in terms of upgrading our roster in the face of a downgrade. Very disappointing.

Lopez doesn't sign here without Giannis. Bud doesn't coach here without Giannis. Giannis is the only thing this franchise has.

Letting the TPE go is bad business, if someone who is an upgrade to our current roster is available and fits the TPE you have lost the opportunity for improvement; you can always shed a contract parting with a minor asset, a la Snell.

Yeah whatever. Wake me up when they trade Giannis for Chandler Parsons.

It’s not Horsts call - ask Sam Presti

The answer to all of this is probably repeater tax.

You still fight for that TPE. You don't have to spend all $10mm of it and put yourself in the luxury tax.

If all it took was guaranteeing George Hill an extra $700k to $1mm on his final year, you do that.

I'm really sad about the TPE news, but I guess, are we really surprised that a team that doesn't seem to understand assets (or RFA, for that matter) at all didn't properly arrange for one more avenue to create an asset?

If Hinkie were GM (assuming all the same moves - even though I doubt he re-signs MIddleton), zero percent chance that the Bucks don't have a TPE right now.

Trading the 28thish pick in next year's draft for Eric Bledsoe. Dumb.
