He may take the lead after putting up 35-15 against a small Warriors team.

Needs 19 additional points for 30 PPG. Looks like he wants it too.

LeBron, embiid, Giannis all at 29.7
I don't normally follow this race.
Is it always such a close race this late in the season?
I don't recall this.
How fun would it be to see Giannis knowing he needs a few high 30/40pt games to pull ahead and he starts just stomping on opponents along the way.
Scoring title
Mvp
Dpoy
Finals mvp
Repeat championship.
Grab it all in one season.
It's crazy to even write it down, but somehow if it could be done, Giannis would be the one.

If we lose the race to the 1st seed which is the logical thing to happen based on our schedule and Miami's easier one we will start resting guys.

So bizarre how they keep leaving Giannis out of those type of things.

I don’t really care too much if Giannis doesn’t win MVP. Jokic probably deserves it anyways.
But when we were on ESPN a couple weeks back and they put up a graphic comparing the top 5 MVP candidates and Giannis wasn’t even included in that…that’s just bull. He should be considered at least on par with Embiid (and really, ahead of him).

And then Lowe had that rant the other day about how nobody talks about Jokic lol. Like what?

It is not a coincidence. I have plenty of thoughts on media coverage, but I'll save you all from my expanded rantings and just keep it to this situation.
I think Giannis, and Jokic for that matter, suffer from two issues that have rotted away journalism as a whole-the coastal bubble and laziness. The former is a result of the echo chamber of so many major media outlets located on the coasts and hiring people almost exclusively from that area. They don't understand areas outside the coasts and they don't want to understand areas outside the coasts either, so why highlight people/stories/issues from flyover country?
Then you have laziness, which is blatanty obvious when you hear the vast majority of the talking heads from major media companies discussing the Association. Sure, there are outliers like Lowe, but 98% of most "analysts" or "commentators" can only intelligently discuss like 3-4 teams and stick to tired tropes and narratives about the remaining squads.
This was painfully obvious when so many media people were clearly rooting for Giannis to leave Milwaukee for the two prior years he signed his extension. You still see it now-anytime he does an interview and says something vague about not knowing what the future holds or whatever, they pounce on that as if it's him signaling a desire to move on from the Bucks. Yet, when he says that he wants to play here for 20 years, there's crickets. I wouldn't be surprised if they ignore him even more now because he didn't leave, as if they're punishing him for it.

Voter fatigue and narrative is very real. At least against the Warriors he was fairly efficient unlike Embiid against the Nets, who went 5-17.

Almost never. The last time 3 guys ended up within a point of each other for the scoring title was 10 years ago.

Not only is Giannis also at 29.7, he has done it in almost 5 less mpg than Lebron, and a bit under 1 on Embiid. Also has a higher fg% and more games played

It is a little weird, but if you're just trying to point out that it could be the closest scoring title race in modern history, it's understandable that you would compare only the top two scoring averages, because it only takes two players to make it the tightest race ever. Doesn't excuse some of the other times Giannis is overlooked in MVP discussion, but it's nothing to get worked up over IMO.
Voter fatigue is a factor. Also, Giannis and the Bucks aren't dominating the regular season as much. Giannis's overall offense is probably better than ever, but he's pacing himself on defense and has been for a few years now. Still DPOY material in the playoffs though. Also, I think some voters soured on him after a few years of forcing the offense too much with offensive fouls, ill-advised 3's, FT yips, and trying to intitiate the offense behind the arc. He's made huge strides in basically all those areas, and I think winning a title has helped him relax a lot more, but the fundamental, disciplined passes he's making more and more aren't always rewarded in MVP conversations. He also hasn't had to deal with the chronic absence of his best teammates the way Jokic and Embiid have, but the Bucks' record is barely better.
Personally I think the issue with acting like it's Embiid vs. Jokic is not that it's an insult to Giannis, but rather to Jokic. Magic and Nash were MVP's for being able to ensure a great offense with their wizardry from the PG position. Jokic basically provides that level of wheel-greasing facilitation FROM THE CENTER POSITION, with all the rebounds and physicality normally expected thereof, as well as extremely underrated defense IMO (positioning matters more than jumping out of the gym), and it's like voters don't even know how to process how valuable that is because it's basically unheard of.

Voter fatigue is going to cost Gianni MVP/DPOY votes, by far. Sure, he's pacing himself in a lot of these games but when the games matter and he locks in it's devastating. The Embiid argument over Gianni is somewhat thin.

It's to the point where I'd say it'd be embarrassing for the league to have Embiid finish ahead of Giannis in any of the awards.

Raheem Palmer @ Action Network has two MVP models/algorithms and Giannis is leading in both of them. Too bad the media has already decided it's Jokic or Embiid. Don't really get it but that's been the media narrative for the last two months or so.
