Whether Vaughn was the right choice is up for debate. But they made the right call steering clear of Udoka.

They all but officially named him coach moments after Nash left. They didn't make the right call as much as they were told it was the wrong call. I think it's safe to assume the league office was clear in presenting what the consequences were of hiring Udoka.

The Nets don't get a damn cookie for not hiring Udoka.

Caught up with a friend who is a Heat fan.

He thinks things might be bad enough in Miami as well as Brooklyn that the Heat could be willing to trade Bam for KD.

Simmons would need to be sent somewhere else due to that designated max contract player clause. Whether Riley sees him as a reclamation project and / or if Durant prefers to be done with him certainly are questions.

Of course Ben could be sent elsewhere in a 3-way deal too.

He was wearing a well cut suit, perhaps too shiny (but what do I know!), and cut a fine figure in the picture I saw with the article I read about his appointment.

I think that's nice, the man is there to do business and look smart. Best of luck to him- I can't remember the last time I wore a suit.

So what would you do if you're Ainge? I doubt they maintain a top 4 seed over the course of the year, but the team is clearly too good to get the lotto odds needed for Wembiid.

Do you start selling some of the better vets or just let it play out to a low playoff/play-in seed?

Minny legitimately played a 4-on-5 possession because D-Lo didn't realize he had been checked-in. You can see him randomly run into the picture at :22.

They would never do it, but I kinda wonder how good the Hawks could be if they traded Trae for a big, strong, explosive two-way wing. Murray is really good and still pretty young in his prime. Boston wouldn't do it either but hypothetically if a Trae/Jaylen Brown swap happened, between Murray, Jaylen, Hunter, Okongwu, Capela, Collins that'd be a pretty huge, athletic two way team.
