Yeah literally looks like a basic Bethesda game. I’m sure people who love those games are going to get a ton of hours out of starfield.

Maybe if his name was Denise instead of Dennis.

I would say the game does something I havent felt since Morrowind, you can feel lost in a good way in this game. Skyrim held your hand a bit too much IMO this game is alittle different. The way you come across side quests is also pretty cool.

Gotta say, it's pretty fun playing a Bethesda game like this and being surprised fairly regularly by gear pickups, or having no idea what to expect in a quest line. There just aren't guides yet.

Honestly haven’t felt this way with a Bethesda game since 2015. This is exactly what I wanted from Starfield.
Again, the game is great, the potential is legendary IMO.

For some reason I thought about Fat Princess today. I very much wish I could still play it.
Shouts to the first ever video game thread on here, which is mostly just me telling people how awesome Fat Princess is.

Downloaded Starfield last night. I think I'm gonna enjoy the heck outta this game.
Unfortunately, I still have BG3 to play (haven't even finished Act 1) AND I've been playing a lot of Sea of Stars. I can't settle on a game.

Preordered Starfield with zero expectation. Created a character before bed. Can't wait to get home to BG3 tonight

I’m just waiting for Lies of P and Spider-Man 2. My only gripes with the Lies of P demo was the dodging mechanics were just not good enough and you didn’t feel the weight of a perfect parry enough and I think they’re working on/fixing both, which is promising.

Jumping back into the starfield right now. I finished Act 1 in BG3 so it feels like a nice time to take a break from that.

Re: OT: Video Games/Computers/Gadgets/Gizmos
Not sure about the league mechanic itself - though it seems quite good and I need to go back to it still - but this is my favorite place POE has been in I think. Endgame has been in a great place for several leagues now, but the changes they made to the atlas passive tree this league were just spot-on. Expedition with a single explosion has been a **** BLAST (pun intended). I had no idea what I was missing all this time because I just hated the mechanic. But now that it doesn't slow you down it's been fun exploring logbooks and doing Tujen and Rog rolls. I haven't even done much Sanctum yet because maps have been so fun to run, and that's what I played this league for in the first place.
Just torn on getting back for act 2 of BG3, and it sounds like Starfield has turned out pretty great for my tastes so I'm anxious to give it a look too. There isn't enough time.

Maybe because I binged way too much of Starfield last weekend but I've slowed up on it considerably this week. Have only done maybe one mission a night. Kotaku came out with a good blog yesterday about it being the same Bethesda RPG that they always release, and how that's totally fine. I agree. That said, there has been a nagging question bouncing around in my head: this is what they've spent the last eight years on? I'm at level 25 and I think I'm to the point where I just want to fly though the main story line, see what's up with the ending and NG+, and decide whether I want to start over.

If you fall in a very specific niche of being a huge fan of ancient history and 4x games I highly recommend Old World. It's on sale on steam right now.

Well hey emulation is pretty rad. Played a quick round tonight.
But now I'm onto more important things: playing NCAA Football 14 with updated rosters.

Yo, can you flick it to me if still free (or if anyone has one)? I've got no interest but my lady friend is keen to get on it.

Will be forever grateful for the Fat Princess recommendation from this forum forever ago, it gave a lot of hours of absurd fun time for me to enjoy with my kiddo.

The older I get the harder it is for me to no life one single player game. Starfield is good, but for me it merely scratches The Elder Scroll itch.

Re: OT: Video Games/Computers/Gadgets/Gizmos
I caved and found out what the NG+ deal is. Read about someone who has seen the credits roll four times. It is an admittedly cool idea. I'm not sure it's so cool that it's gonna make me replay the main story a bunch of times. Maybe when there's a lull in game releases. But there's too much stuff coming out in the next four months.

Re: OT: Video Games/Computers/Gadgets/Gizmos
Sometimes I’m glad I only have 1/2 hours a day (not every day) to game. Starfield will take me a year to get really far into. Burnout just isn’t possible for me.
