Has anyone seen the show Dark Winds on AMC?

Really good ratings on IMDb and rotten tomatoes

Anyone watch True Detective premier yet? I haven't. I had given up on it but think I'll give the new season a shot.

Watched it last night. It was ok. They made some weird CGI choices that looked kind of hokey to me. I'll keep watching in any event.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

Watch the movie. What is wrong with you?

I thought season 3 was really good. Just rewatched it.

Did not see the s4 premiere yet, but I'm not super-intrigued. May skip it.

One of the best shows of the last 5 or so years imo, and horribly unappreciated/unwatched. It’s a sort of minor masterpiece. Not new subject matter, but feels and moves different than every other show (most shows *feel* exactly the same to me). And, the underwater part of the iceberg is massive.

Did you watch the earlier movie he did, The Magician? Its on Tubi or something. I tried it but it’s a different version of Ray and I didn’t like it. I’ll probably give it another shot.

True Detective S4 has the vibe of if the Barbie director Greta Gerwig wanted to do her version of True Detective.

First episode of True Detective has me excited. There's a zero percent chance it's worse than Season 2. Season 3 was great/underrated.

I'll still finish it since it's only 6 episodes but Ep1 didn't establish any likeable or interesting characters IMO and its seems like it might be hinting at a supernatural/sci-fi element in contrast to the detective mystery & conspiracy of Nic Pizzolatto's True Detective. Issa Lopez described True Detective as sweaty and male whereas Night Country will be cold & dark & female, probably not my cup of tea.

also personally, miss me on the setting in Alaska at least this time of year. Its just unattractive & unwelcoming, contrasted with the southern gothic aesthetic of S1 & S3 or even the weird California setting in S2 its downright sterile. also bad CGI in the ep

fwiw btw I actually found Barbie to be entertaining

I did, it’s on YouTube I think. It’s different but pretty good. Sort of more of a downer though.

If you think that True Detective going for a "supernatural/occult" angle is a big deviation then that tells me that you didn't even watch Season 1 lol.
