Are we trading Giannis for him?

I think we played it smart by giving Andre plenty of minutes to develop, just to see if we could get away with not making a move, but we still do not have a starting 2. We desperately need consolidation at the position because we just have a big pile of decent

AJ should be starting at the 2 and it’s stupid that he isn’t. It’s a perfect fit on paper and on court we have like a +16 net rating when he’s on court with Dame/Giannis. But we instead opt to start Taurean Prince and Dre and it’s embarrassing as hell.

Mavs say no, in part because Davis wants to be the floor spacing big.

Considering he hasn't shot over 30% from three since the 2020 postseason I think the Bucks could sell the Mavs on that being a dubious idea, but fair enough they could certainly roll with it anyway.

If the Bucks are sending a big back that still maintains Dallas' newfound surplus, so could we get a 2nd back too in PJ Washington? They're either sending him to the bench or he's an odd fit for a 3. I'd send Bobby to another team, the Mavs get something from them they need, plus a top 10 protected '31 1st from us.

Their big rotation would be AD, Lively, & Brook. Looks quite good. But I'd happily take your deal too, & even add a little sweetener. Not the '31 1st, but Tyler Smith/Andre Jackson Jr/2nd.

I doubt Dallas would put Washington on the table considering he's been great for them and they're still trying to compete. They don't seem to be super interested in draft capital

I'd rather them go after a John Collins who can shoot and tries on defense from time to time.

Hoping for an inspired/aggressive move (KD, Jimmy, Ingram, Cam Johnson, Herb Jones), but I'm prepping for the absolute worst (Kuzma, Andrew Wiggins, John Collins, McCollum, Collin Sexton).

Anything less than a blowup is going to be a disappointment. This team isn't real contender.

Send Dame for FVV & Eason. Try and get Whitmore too but it's not a hangup, Eason is the prize.

Imagine if we end up doing nothing. I might just sign out for the rest of the season if we don't make any moves.

Once upon a time I thought I was the biggest Eason fan there is, but the amount of faith that some of you guys have for a soon-to-be 24-year old dude who's never cracked 25 MPG is astonishing. Is there really a belief that Eason has star level upside? Or are we doing the thing where he's the shiny new analytics/per-minute metric guy that fools people into thinking there's some deeper unlocked potential when in reality he's just a really elite defensive role-player who popped immediately?

I agree with this.

People somehow how view Prince as a scorer, but he's a standstill shooter. The number of times he and Jackson have single digit games is too many for starters on a playoff team. And he doesn't have any other skills (passing, rebounding).

I would start Green and give him a ton of minutes to see how he does. He also has games where he can't get a shot off. Good first half yesterday and them nothing, because they paid attention to him.

I was all in favor of giving the young guys regular season minutes. Now it's time to get a playoff rotation going. Assuming no big trades, let's see a Giannis, Lopez, Middleton, Green, Dame lineup does.

And the bench in the playoffs should be short-Portis, Trent, and PC. Ajax and Rollins are not ready for playoff ball. Go all out with the old man's lineup. Playoff ball is slowdown ball.

He fits with Giannis at the five perfectly. And future growth is a bonus.

Plenty of guys "fit perfectly" with Giannis at the 5 and have an objectively higher ceiling. I'm simply willing to concede that it's a much higher likelihood that he's just Robert Covington.

Only move I would love right now is Khris+Brook for Cam+Claxton, but that’s entirely predicated on the Nets wanting to get out of long term money. Maybe we could split the 31 1st like Phoenix did?

Hopefully Horst stuck to his guns and didn’t just get out maneuvered.
