The elephant in the room is how do you get rid of Kyle Kuzma. That’s not being talked about enough. Speculating about a Giannis trade or a coaching change is necessary but Kuzma needs to go. I don’t believe we’re the dumbest franchise in the NBA although we currently look like it. Hiring Doc and trading for Kuzma looks abysmal. If we’re stuck with Doc, Horst has to make it so there are no Kyle Kuzmas on the roster for him to moronically depend on. That would be a good 1st step to righting the wrong.

Assuming that Giannis does stay, what do you do with Dame? Just hope he has something left?

How bout we fire Doc, keep Kuz until the deadline & hope he bounces back to the 40% corner shooter he was, instead of 30. Good at finisher at 59-60 instead of in the 54's. And at least recovers to career norms across the board. Then likely still trade him if he doesn't buy in to being a role guy.
I think some have a visceral reaction to how he played w/ the Bucks so far & emotionally can't tolerate watching him play. But that's how you make mistakes. Attach assets we need. In the end we'll care so much more about what happens in the playoffs than the 1st half of the regular season.

I can't see Giannis getting too bent about a coaching change. He wasn't involved in hiring Doc and didn't really make a peep when his hand-picked guy was canned after 43 games.

Kuzma should be glued to Suki this summer. If nothing else I want him getting pushed around less.

I think the only viable trade that doesn't involve the Bucks sending out a pick is Kuz+Pat for Jerami Grant.

Truly the dumbest org in the league if they keep Doc. Just content lighting years of Giannis’ prime away.

I don’t think Doc is the best coach, it I think the team personnel problem is far greater than the coaching problem. We have some room to maneuver and retool the roster next season. Dame is obviously an anchor especially if he’s not eligible for the disabled player exception, but I still think this team is a good destination for guys trying to rehab their value.

Re: Bucks News, Transactions and Trade Ideas - 2025 Off-season
After a year and a half of Doc Rivers, he’s really only a coach by title. The dude is a glorified cheerleader by all accounts. He’s great at saying all the right things and remarkably terrible at managing the game. He’s known as a choker, scapegoat artist and has 1 title under his belt all thanks to Danny Ainge putting together an all time great roster. I’ll never for the life of me understand the appeal with the man. Why we didn’t just let him stay with ESPN will remain a mystery to me.

Good luck hyping up anyone about this team if you keep Doc, no matter what you do on the personnel side.

Re: Bucks News, Transactions and Trade Ideas - 2025 Off-season
Like after last year Doc was selling the brass on how things will improve from him being able to install his non-existent system in the offseason; this year it's the Kuz trade and integrating less young players than most teams.
The Kuz trade wasn't a very big one for near-term. We traded someone we were using as a 6th man for a guy who should have been used as a sub at best last season. And for young players, he wasn't very willing to play them. When he did, they were mid 20's, not teens to early 20's.
He's just a very smooth talker/con artist which works on the impressionable.

If Giannis is staying and the agreement is we're going to continue to try, I think I'd do that. I know Grant was trash this year, but he was fine as recently as last year. Unless an injury thing happened I don't know of that will hinder him going forward, I'd chalk this year up to him likely not caring. One would think getting off a tanking team and into a team like this at least trying to win would probably get him to put in the effort. From what I can tell, he's down to 3 years left, Kuzma is 2, only 31 years old. So its not digging the whole that much deeper vs Kuz. If Giannis is staying, Grant having the larger salary slot lines him up with higher level players 1-2 years down the line for a trade as well.

If Doc was just a meh coach I wouldn't feel too strongly about it. But this season has shown me he's a straight up cancer on the sidelines. Like he will actively sabotage your team with his front office meddling (Kuzma trade), baffling lineup decisions, and complete lack of creativity offensively. He's the worst coach in the league and we should just trade Giannis if that's the plan.
Also Jerami Grant sucks and we should absolutely not be trading for him and his $30-35mil/yr deal for the next 3 seasons after this one. We better be getting picks/prospects for taking that garbage deal on.

Correct, no one has suggested protesting specifically to trade Giannis but there is talk here about a billboard and the need to start rebuilding now. Which means trading Giannis.
I'm all for a protest against Doc. That should be the focus. Not a rebuild.
I am a talent matters most guy, but Doc is SO bad that any thought of winning is contingent on gettihng rid of Doc. If Horst keeps him, it exposes Horst for what he is-either incompetent or a man without any guts. I think it's the latter, because he had to see what we saw with the lineups.

Re: Bucks News, Transactions and Trade Ideas - 2025 Off-season
Like others have pointed out, I'm only really interested in Flagg, Amen, or Jalen Williams. Flagg is obvious, Amen imo has insane 2 way potential. He can't really shoot right now but has shown a pretty decent game in and around the mid range. Williams, I think has a Siakam like ceiling but I'd take the gamble he could be potentially more with some seasoning as the #1 option.
That said, I'd be more than happy enough to try and compete with the greatest player to ever wear a Bucks jersey. I try to at least catch some minutes of every game he participates in to not take him for granted. Most of these trade proposals don't move me. Either I'm not interested in the player return given the circumstances were in or the picks are just crap.
I don't know the market well enough to know what shooters, in a Beasley/GTJ type way that would potentially be willing to go for the minimum, if we need to replace GTJ or KPJ. Maybe you sell Giannis on running it back with this group, hopefully a different coach () and really give it a go to get an MVP.
Brook rightfully got played off the court, but I'd still bring him back if he was willing to take the minimum. The pacers are basically a worst nightmare for him, but to get the through the regular season, he's been a warrior and can still definitely play against a bunch of teams.

They were eliminated less than 72 hours ago. There's still a chance Horst is working to build a consensus internally that Doc needs to go. right? Right?! RIGHT?!?!?

You know southbound on 43 how there’s that billboard that just shows you our national debt?
Can we get one right next to that that shows how many hours Doc has been coaching the bucks?

Tobes and tim Hardaway suck too.
But in that scenario you're not taking on 3 for 30-35. You're just adding 1 for 30-35 vs Kuz/Pat

Free offer from BigO. I will "And 1" all posts calling for Doc to go.
I am dismayed that only half the posts are calling for him to go. It needs to be close to 95%.
Or Mickey D, how about a poll? Should the Bucks fire Doc? Don't let other teams fans weigh in or we're in trouble.

To me I can't believe they had to give Doc a huge multi year deal. Mid season I get your options are limited, so I thought he was a fine stabilizer type option. Definition of mediocrity. But once he wouldn't take a deal just to finish the year, or a 1.5 year deal just say OK never mind and roll with assistants. Figure it out in the offseason.
