Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas
The problem with trading for KD in any deal that doesn't involve Giannis or Dame is that we would have to ship out Kuzma and Pat to make it work. We are already asset light, and that would make the cost even higher. If you think Dame can get back for the playoffs, there is a way to make that roster work, theoretically, but we can't both trade for KD AND dump those contracts. We are going to have to target someone much lower profile and hope for a leap. Some might say we've already done it with KPJ, and I would agree with them.

The trade ideas for Giannis on this page are so under his value it makes me wonder what teams all of you root for. It appears there are Rockets and Celtics fans on here who want the Bucks to hand them a championship. Brutal.
Are you actually reading the posts? I pretty clearly stated I wouldn't trade him because you won't get fair value. If you HAVE to trade him what are you reasonably getting back?
let him yell at the clouds. its what he does here
im with you. youre either getting a young guy or two and a mountain of picks or 4 quarters for a dollar with vets.
my proposal with the celtics gets us younger and wins 50 games which the celtics absolutely wouldnt do and hes mocking me.
maybe we give the celts giannis and bring back an injured tatum and pieces. the celtcis make some sense because they are facing the same kind of year we are with the tax and tatum out. but whats the point of tatum if giannis doesnt want to be here. taking 4 of the top celts in a giannis trade might make sense if the owners dont want a rebuild
i dont see alot of trading partners out there where it makes sense for both of us tho really

Your ad hominem attacks notwithstanding, I doubt there's too many posters here who think your proposal is close to Giannis's value.
You want to trade the best player of this generation for a sometime all star another one whose never been an all star (actually I love Derrick White, but as a good complementarty piece). Plus an oft injured, not very impactful Porzingas and a bench guard.
If the Bucks followed your proposal, there'd be a lot of yelling on this board and it wouldn't be at clouds.

instead of bitching at everybody come up with a proposal if we have to trade him. the idea or discussion that there is "fair value" is the absurd one. no deal will be fair but we may be forced to have one. my proposal was taking 4 or the top 5 guys off the defending champions and this year a 61 game winner by filling salary with dame and pat. add picks and make it as ridiculous as you want but at least the framework keeps us relevent.
but you do you and mock away

your attacks on me and others are direct and obnoxious. please knock off playing the victim or with the gaslight treatment. if you continue with your nonstop condescension you should expect the same.

You, and others, knock it off. Comment on the substance not the poster. If you (and yes it's not just you) can't do that then go somewhere else to talk Bucks. THX.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I was one of the first on here (a few months ago) to put forth a Giannis trade proposal. Some liked it, some didn't. I'd still do it, although any poster who refuses to trade Giannis has a point.

It was before the lottery and I've been on the Flagg bandwagon well before that.
Originally, It was Flagg for Giannis, with Dallas also giving up draft picks.
But the heart of it was/is my thought that Flagg has the potential to be a top five player and perhaps a generational player.
I know Dallas says they won't trade him, but I don't know that's true.
Anyway, the current situation with Giannis is that he gives the impression he wants to stay and if that's the case it's hard to start trying to trade him and piss him off and then have the trade not go thru.

I think Lauri is a good player but the Bucks need multiple good players, imo. They need to build a deep roster. People like to point to OKC and Indy but I would add LAC and Memphis in the mix as well. Adding another $46m+ player to the team makes it that much harder to create a bench.
Also, I don't think OKC is going to give up their picks this year. I think it's more likely for them to trade some of their role players like Kendrick Williams and Isaiah Joe and draft their replacements.

Thinking about what our team might look like under Thibs.
DPOY Giannis?
Rollins / Ajax / KPJ become impact defenders?

AJAX would be a Thibs favorite. Look at what he did to players like Noah, Asik in Chicago.....Dieng, Kris Dunn in Minnesota....McBride or Robinson in NY. If there is one thing Thibs is good at it's taking a guy who is above average (or better on defense) and making sure they maximize their skills.
What I would worry about with Thibs, especially with most of our roster, is by playoff time the roster would be on IR. If we thought injuries were a problem before...Thibs would run this roster into the ground. We would have to completely overhaul the roster except for Andre Jackson, Green, KPJ, and Giannis. That might not be a bad thing.
But if there is one thing I wouldn't worry about with Thibs as coach it's players like Andre Jackson.

Ron Swanson wrote:Makes sense why the Rockets would leak that the Suns have been prying around getting their pick (#10) back. I'm sure they'd love to add Durant at a discount (FVV's bad salary plus 2/3rd's of the Suns picks). Also saw a proposal on the T&T board where the Raptors would step in and have the winning bid with us kicking in our 2031 1st (Top-5 protected) and getting Ingram re-routed here. I'd be pretty intrigued by that idea.
What was the specific deal? Was it the one looping in the Nets as well? Suns can't aggregate salaries, so here's my attempt:
MKE: Ingram
PHX: Claxton, Johnson, Agbaji
TOR: Durant
BKN: Kuzma, Pat, Walter, #9, MKE '31 1st

flagg would be all our favorites. trading giannis for SGA or joker or luka and getting a long term promise from them would be cool too.
i dont think those deals are realistic. youre basically asking for untouchables. guys whose value is better than giannis.
assuming we had to break giannis value up for lesser parts is there a package youd prefer?

The short answer is no. Sure, there are some I'd hate less than others, but the history of trading guys like Giannis are not good.
The Bucks, back in the day, got a lot of really good players for Kareem, but even though they remained a good team, nothing made up for losing Kareem.
The difference between trading for SGA or Joker is that they are already established stars. Flagg is not. It is a huge risk; one, because I am an anonymous poster, I am willing to do.
If I'm Dallas, I make the trade, because they know how good Giannis is and pairing him with Davis and Kyrie makes them the favorites.

flagg, sga, wemby and joker are the four guys in the league with greater value to their teams than giannis could replace. imo none of those teams would trade those players for giannis straight up.
luka..i think the lakers would do.
if the only trade youd consider for giannis is a trade we "win" then youre taking this the wrong direction imo. obviously if he wants to be here we dont trade him. if he asks out then we will have to go into damage control mode. were not going to win a trade for giannis if were in damage control. its just not going to happen

Love it for us, M Porter would get a lot of shots here
