Man that seems to be a great case if its true, at this pace we would be lucky t get ff7 remake in 10 years LMAO

Yeah, that's a good point. I should probably be careful of what I wish for there.

I was addicted from like season 2 - season 5 but put it down and haven't touched it since. Watched a twitch stream a few weeks ago and saw guys driving around in a little ball car thing and shook my head.

What’s your budget? I’ve been toying with the idea of getting a laptop for on the go gaming (travel for work has really picked up) and I’ve got my eye on a few.

I’d prefer a $1500 maximum probably, but $1200 would be even better.

I really just want to be able to play something on the go. Discrete gfx would be excellent, but I don’t need a Razer or anything like that (unless it just so happens to be the right choice).

I’ve looked at a few, but - understandably - the 2-in-1 market doesn’t have many discrete gfx options. There’s a Dell but there seem to be some issues some have with it - haven’t done all my research there yet.
I really like the Huawei Matebook X Pro. I got it for $1500 but I've seen them for $1200. 3k touchscreen, i7 with 16gb ram and 500gb SSD. Super thin and practically no bezel. Pretty much gives you everything you can ask out of a laptop. Feels VERY similar to a MacBook even down to the one finger open/close.

Obviously they have some bad press in the States. Pretty much just need to ask yourself whether you prefer the US or China spying on you. I've heard less than great things about their US support too, so I picked it up from Amazon with a 3 year square trade deal (ST is fantastic in my experience). I'd snag a copy of their drivers because apparently that site went down for like a week or something.

As for gaming, it does only have the integrated graphics. Civ 6 was probably the most graphically intense game and it runs without issues for whatever that's worth. I'm tempted to push the limits just to see, but it's not really why I got it.

I believe a new model just came out or is coming out soon. I don't remember but I wasn't impressed enough with what I saw to wait, but I needed it sooner so that played a factor.

Also saw there is a difference in models when it comes to the integrated graphics. Might be the US model or after a certain date, but they downgraded. I believe I have the downgraded model and still no issues. Might be nothing but worth taking a look into if youre seriously considering it and gaming is a priority.

I'd have no problem buying a Huawei, personally. For me, though, it would be giving up on one of the top things on my list which is 2-in-1 functionality. Integrated graphics are a dealbreaker for me, but you can get a Matebook X Pro with discrete as well.

I'm looking at some traditional laptops, too, so I'll keep this in mind. I like the unibody design. It's basically a MBP running Windows 10...which sounds fantastic.

Days Gone becomes an entirely new game after about 8-10 hours. They probably lost a lot of people's attention making it such a slow build but I'm glad I powered through, having a blast right now with it.

I am really enjoying DQ11. It took about 15 hours to hook me, but it's got me now. Not that the first 15 hours were bad in any way - it's just that the story takes a while to pick up some steam and get to some interesting parts.

I know I won't shut up about it, but Days Gone is currently my GotY and I'd rate it up at 90-95/100. Only thing I can see taking it down would be Cyberpunk 2077 if it makes it out in 2019.

Hours 1-5 I'd put it at 65%, 6-10 at 75%, 10-15 at 85% and 15 on it moved into the next level...

Anybody have any mindless game suggestions? Something to just grab and play without needing to be too invested? In the past Mad Max was my go-to and I heard Rage 2 is good for that. Just need something to wine down with at night, or when there's stressful Bucks playoff games on and need a quick distraction so I don't have a stroke LOL. I have a gaming PC and PS4 Pro if that helps.

Stardew Valley has been so huge for me. Some days work/Bucks stress me the **** out and it's perfect.

Portal 1/2 aren't exactly mindless but definitely casual and don't need to invest a lot of time at once if you don't want.

Civ is also strategy but moves at your own pace

Mario Kart has been really nice too for the Switch.

Super Meat Boy and Bastion are pretty good on PC, liked Binding of Isaac too.

Stardew Valley ended up consuming my life for a few weeks so I don't know how casual I'd consider it. Easy to get super sucked in.

Casual start and stop for 20 minutes at a time has been my thing for a while and even though I said earlier how fighting games weren't my thing, I kinda love Injustice 2. Know all the characters, and the story mode gives you a great story and a chance to play as most of the characters (or at least the good ones). Once I finished that over the course of a few nights I decided I was gonna main Supergirl and now I pick up and play about four matches a night over 20 minutes and it's completely satisfying.

I’m a big Cities: Skylines person for casual pick up and play or long stints. Golf Story was enjoyable for a bit and I’ll second the Stardew Valley and Civ suggestions but be warned, both can suck you in for hours.

I'll add Factorio (although it can suck you in for extended periods of time - I even made a kanban board for my large map)

Also, I've fallen back in love with Diablo 3. 15-20 minutes of button smashing face rolling hits the spot for me.

I've actually also been thinking of getting Diablo 3 again. It's been a few years since I last played and I don't think I played the reaper of souls expansion. Might have to look back into that as well! Good suggestions!

Yeah, that's a good point. I should probably be careful of what I wish for there.

Still ridiculous they announced it as early as they did. I'm way over it now and don't even think of it as a game actually coming out, but that was...a misstep.

Yep, I don't even think of it as a game instead of a series of cinematics - which, to be honest, is a waste since if Square is going to remake a Final Fantasy, it should definitely be 6 and not 7.

That's not exactly what I meant, but I can understand the take.

What I meant is that I don’t think of it as being real at this point because it’s been so long since they announced it and I don’t have confidence in it being close. I’ll get hyped when we get more info, see more, have a date.
