Re: Giannis SIGNS
Underrated aspect of the Holiday trade... Kris is now our third best two way player. I can’t think of a single team whose third best player is better than Kris.

3a and 3b. We still need a number 2.
of the top 15 guys in the league whose your target?
Beal and Booker. Neither is being moved right now and we don't have the assets but those are the perfect fits next to GA.

id trade middleton for the both of them but not straight up for either. both those guys are closer to lavine and derozen than they are our guy.

Re: Giannis SIGNS
If niether Jrue or Middleton are #2's then the only team in the league that has a #2 are the Lakers and, depending how you feel about Simmons, Philly (Maybe GS depending how Klay looks coming back from injury)MissKhriddleton wrote:jschligs wrote:aboveAverage wrote:It’s beyond amazing that we have Giannis for the next five years. But we need to focus on improving the team. I don’t think we are quite there yet. We’re still missing a solid 3rd star/semi star. I’m not sure what moves we can make in the future because we basically went all in on this team. Do we basically need to get super lucky in the draft next season?

It also tends to love our own guys when they first come here, then obsessively pick them apart the longer they are here. I have a friend with a cute wife who took cooking classes over a summer at some fancy club in Kohler. But my buddy would taste the dinner, and complain about it being too salty. I said dude, you have a good thing going here. That is how most here treat Kris.
Top 30 player and elite shooter and competent wing defender, But if all you did was read this board, you might think he was the biggest fraud in the league.
Admittedly, Khris went from being "my guy!" as an underused youngster to a player I criticize more than I want to. And the reason is obvious. The contract. And him not being worth it. Its definitely not Khris' fault. I do like your analogy though. The problem is so many things need to align properly to win a championship that you have to be damn near perfect. Especially for a market like Milwaukee. So while your buddy and I should probably chill out and "enjoy what we have" its about a title now. I just see that contract as an obstacle. Believe me, if we manage to win it, nothing will make me happier than to say "I WAS WRONG!!!" between pulls of bourbon and SC Slimer.

Re: Giannis SIGNS
The Athletic, via Partnow, has pretty thorough analysis on players. Their tier system has both Midds and Jrue in the 17-24 overall ranking and 3A tier for the league. Giannis #1. RPM last year had Giannis 1, Middleton 15, Jrue 22. I think it's pretty tough to argue that Midds and Jrue aren't top 25 guys.

Lol...
Booker is better than Middleton already, at 23. Not even in his prime yet. Beal is pretty equal..I'd prefer Middleton > Beal.
Middleton is much closer to Booker/Beal than Tatum/Simmons/Butler.

Booker is a better scorer than Middleton. Middleton is a much better two-way player.

Yeah, that's true. But Middleton's defense is so overrated on this board because of the 1.5 seasons before his hamstring injury. Since then, he's only been slightly above average.

both those guys have some of the worst defensive metrics in the league. like bryn forbes or worse bad. they also need the ball...ALOT. trading them for middleton would be a risky manuever. im not trading this teams joe dumars for dale ellis or jeff malone

Wait what....Booker and Beal >>>> Midds, it's not close. I'd trade Midds straight up for either of them in a heartbeat. Wow, I get people under-rate Midds, but he's way over-rated by some too.

I agree with jschligs. Jrue and Middleton are in the range of player that would make them the featured player on a below average and worse team, or a good 2nd option on a good team. The problem is that since the Lakers have LeBron and AD, there's a school of thought that compares all 2nd best players to AD and finds them wanting. But that's not the only way to do it, and it's not required to beat the Lakers.

Re: Giannis SIGNS
We are not going to trade Khris, also cant see us trading Lopez and Pat
because of Giannis (no one can value Pat as a positive value so **** it anyway), so Donte, DJ and our second round pics is what we have.

Booker is 23, his defense will improve. Especially when he's not playing for a bottom feeder. His defense could also be hidden better playing next to Jrue/Craig/Giannis. Middleton's a better defender, but his D has been overrated for the last few years. Big difference between Middleton now and pre-hamstring injury.

Out of curiosity, outside of the Lakers with LBJ and AD, are there any other teams with two players in tier 1 and 2?
