My secret weapon is a free ap called “bend.” Do a 15 minute workout each day, don’t skip or take shortcuts. Its just stretches with demonstrations and a timer. You’ll feel 8 years younger in two weeks. You will start feeling athletic again. Throw in a moderate full body weightlifting routine (bench, curls, squats, plyometric jumps) and you can hang with beer drinking 28 year olds, or whatever windmill you are chasing.

Funny seeing this. Was just talking with my cousin how I wake up sore every day and I had been trying to do better about stretching. I usually have 30 minutes each morning wide open. Will be downloading Bend.

Same.

I want to know why, why as an establishment that by all accounts serves high quality food, you would ruin your sandwich by putting stupid butter pickles on it?

BUTTER PICKLES?

They should all be shot into the sun.

My twitter account was in the purge those idiots over at X did yesterday. They got a bunch of folks using an old tweetdeck/old twitter dev so if you're account hasn't gotten suspended/banned yet and you were using those you should stop doing that.

Probably just follow what everyone has said but I would also add in getting a pull-up bar for 20 bucks. Obviously depends on what you what, but pull-ups, body squats, and crunches while eating right gets you 90% of the way there. Nothing wrong with doing random youtube videos to see what you like and do give you a variety (every time you switch the first few times are hard because there are new movements that your body hasn't done*

*I haven't done this myself in a long time with the excuse being kids. I just rely on going to the gym once a week, eating right and doing pull-ups and push-ups every couple hours while working at home.

I love milk, drink it every day. How much is a gallon where you guys live? There's an Express Mart on my way home that for months has been getting people in the door by selling all gallons for $2.33. That's crazy low, right?

My young kids go through like 2-3 gallons of whole milk a week. Pretty sure Kroger/Metro has it for like $2.60 something.

$2.74 is the cheapest out of the places I shop at.

Speaking of milk - I recently discovered how incredible Fairlife chocolate milk is.

Made some amazing chili this week. Thought I'd share the recipe because it's really easy and really **** good.

I made this chili. Very easy to make. I didn't grind my own cumin or oregano - I just used the preground stuff. The whole cooking process took about an hour, and, of course, it was even better the next day.

The one thing I did do which took a small amount of extra work was making a chili base. It's basically dried chilis steeped in hot water for a while to soften before being blended into some store bought chicken stock. Kenji talks about that here in one of his far more complicated and fancy Chili recipes and he shows himself doing it in this chili con carne recipe. I used a few arbol chilis and a few New Mexico chilis that I've had sitting around for various salsas I've made. You can find them (and more) at Woodman's (or your local grocer). It really added a ton of flavor for very little extra work. I also recommend adding some soy sauce/fish sauce for the unami flavor.

My next meal will be this amazing beef stew. Here's the link to a video, in case you're a visual learner. It looks pretty easy to make; just will take some time. I'll let you know how it goes.

Have made both of those. Especially fond of the beef stew.

I can't over exaggerate how happy I am that it's chili and stew weather. I could eat one or the other for most meals during the fall and winter and be a happy boy. Normally I hate peas, but dumping a bag of frozen peas into the pot when the stew is almost done is perfection.

If you put beans in chili it ruins it.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Same. If you're looking for something in stew family that's ridiculously delicious, have been making this recipe for more than a decade. Served with mashed potatoes and nicely cooked asparagus.

Beef and Guinness Short Ribs

If you want to cut through the bitterness of the beer, you can add a TBSP or two of brown sugar.

I'm not a fan of beans in chili, either. But my wife loves them, so, we compromise and, uh, put beans in the chili.

That chili con carne recipe I posted above has no beans, if that's your style.

I don't care what you want to call it. Put beans in my [red sauce with meat and spices].

I can go either way with beans in chili, but if I do put beans in it they have to be pinto.

Happy World Diabetes Day to those who celebrate.

For those who don’t, maybe do a brief bit of reading on warning signs and risk factors and get a check up.

I like beans in my chili. Fools me into thinking it's healthier and I'm not just shoveling a pile of meat into my face. I use red kidney and white navy.

Oh we talking chili?

Image

We actually made vegetarian chili for the first time yesterday and it came out.....great? Beans, beans, and more beans is the secret. Don't want it too soupy and acidic without the meat to soak it up. Hemp seed, garlic, and a dash of cinnamon for flavor. But we also boil noodles to dump over it, so when it's all said and done, really more of a chili/pasta casserole lol.
