If Giannis didnt ask out this year he isnt going to ask out next year with one final supermax on the table so its nothing but noise for the next two years

Hmm good for Giannis, happy for him and his family but Bucks wise this might be a bit risky. He is so family orientated, we saw what happened to Dame being away from his kids the last two years. Giannis is a different guy and don't doubt anything about his competitiveness, but this is likely going to be a very tough year away from them during the season.

Well, if he wants to end his career playing for Greece, good thing that '31 1st didn't get traded.

if the new playing philosophy is a dud or turner gets hurt or just about any ole thing that screams mediocrity then we better trade him fast or we could be stuck with nothing coming back.

imo...what i think.... is that when his milwaukee run ends he may just walk away to europe. this move screams thats where he wants to be and it wouldnt surprise me that hed be just as happy if not happier winning euroleague/world titles than nba titles at this point

if im wrong im just super hopeful hes more forthright with our front office than the media as far as what his true intentions are

This is really interesting. It is the opposite of what would make sense from a work schedule standpoint. The kids will be in school during the winter and free to travel during the summer so he wont be able to see them like..... at all.... from Mid-September to June. Like it would make more sense from the outside looking in to have her move the family back home to California

This Mariah and kids are in Greece thing sucks, no two ways about it. No doubt that's going to be hard on all of them.

I guess the dream of him playing NBA until he's 40 ish is now dead. Can't blame him at all, still a bummer tho.

The family prefers Athens’ climate to Milwaukee’s cold, where even July temperatures rarely exceed 26°C.

Unless I'm misreading, this is primarily about where he wants his kids educated.

right but im trying to read between the lines here too. his brothers are all there with his mom in a dang compound and their business interests there. im sure his kids and their educations play a role obviously but i think its also a pretty obvious scene that the whole clan was already there thats just where he wants to be too.... selfishly....himself.

Guessing he goes to be the face of Lebron's new international league. They will likely pay him some Saudi LIV type contract, that the Nba won't be able to touch due to the salary cap aaaannd all his brothers will be on his team making some bank too.

Gets to see his family, gets to play with his brothers, gets better weather, gets more money.

Lebron was talking to Jokic too it looks like as well.

I get the instant reaction to say **** Shams and its all BS but I think this is the most real it's ever been. If it's true which I think considering everything it probably is, he has given another team name he would be happy to go to and the teams, if only briefly, talked actual trade terms about it.

We are in the endgame now, 2026 is absolutely a crunch year if Giannis stays here for the next few years.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
