Bump.

Man, the Bobcats really had a bad offseason. Added no talented depth and are swapping Felton for Augustin and Chandler for Dampier? I could definitely see them missing the playoffs.

Hollinger is an idiot. Wolves players now have breakfast together. That alone is like 20 more wins.

It still amazes me how truly bad the Pistons are once they dumped Billups and signed BG & CV

I think the Pistons have one of the worst futures in the league, even though I really like Greg Monroe. Their players are either soft, overpaid, one-dimensional, or all three.

Billups for Iverson is still one of the worst trades in the history of the NBA. They traded a top 3-5 player at the PG position for an expiring cancer and nothing else. What an absolutely awful move by Detroit.

But but they saved money so they could overpay CV and give a bit to BG.

I'd have the Kings rated above the Knicks. Cuz and Reke are a great tandem moving forward and they have some nice young parts moving forward that they could package in a deal.

Warriors will be dreadful this year. Once Nellie is taken to the glue factory and some of the expirings come off the books, they'll make headway. If Kahn wasn't around, I'd predict the Dubs would compete for league worst record.

I agree that the Kings could surprise and that the Knicks are being overrated here. I still don't see how the Knicks are going to stop anybody on the defensive end. If they trade Chandler for Fernandez they get even worse on that side. But their post defenders are Amare, Turiaf, and Curry. Funny stuff.

Knicks have to address that side after trading the considered-for-All NBA-defensive-squad member David Lee. Now the floodgates are open.

Curry plays post-defense. He waits until he's not on defense, and then he starts playing.

I don't think it'll be reflected in wins and losses this year, but I feel like the Cavs are in the worst position in the NBA right now... The players they have will win a fair number of games, between 20-25, IMO, but they don't have any real pieces for the future and they won't get a top 5 daft pick to help. I am sick of hearing about JJ Hickson. IMO, he is the most overrated player in the NBA...

I'd much rather have the Pacers roster going forward than the Cavs.

Cavs and Pistons are both in really bad spots. Cavs have two more years to wait until cap room, and Pistons are in a cap mess and both have 30-35ish win rosters. Pacers at least have financial flexibility and a few nice young pieces. But yeah, of all the teams in the East right now, I'd say Pistons, Cavs, and Raptors have the worst futures.

Hope the Craptors' trolls don't find this post, LUKE!

Don't forget that the Cavs and Craptors have trade exceptions from losing LeBron and Bosh. That gives both of those franchises financial flexibility as well. It's not a given that they'll be able to use them competently but it's possible that either or both of them could make some nice moves with their TPEs.
