Ok Kohl...It's Time. Let's Hear Ya.

Before we (the Bucks) become a laughinstock around the league again Bucks owner Herb Kohl really needs to address this fan base and the plight of this team from the GM on down to the medical staff who drafts guys with bum hips and can't keep his investments on the floor or in shape.
IMO we are listening to everyone else but him. Many complained before about his 'meddling' but from where I sit he is having guys run things that do not know what they are doing and this is time for him to speak out and grant votes of confidence, or put some of these guys on the hot seat.
As everyone's 'up and coming team' after the dumb luck, out of nowhere year, this Bucks team has fell on their face after more solid financial contributions by Kohl to shell out big contracts right on the heels of Redd finally coming off the books. And his team is still losing!
Okay many will blame the injuries and lack of practice time. Some say we need to fire the guys who make the schedule (

as if they are to blame...)
But Owner Herb Kohl had trusted Hammond and Skiles to do an about face and bring in 5-7 new players Hammond knew for others teams and who have mileage on them and injury histories.
You have Packers in the SBowl and the Brewers starting in two weeks....the Bucks will be irrelevant. Kohl as a business man had better come in here in the next day or two and get in front of a mic or reporter and say, "Listen, we had better shape up or I am going to make a move!'
Far from me to tell the Senator what to do. But as a fan I demand some words from him about the course of this season, what he expects moving forward and to place some accountability and some urgency in this team.
His ship be sinkin...and is highly mismanaged and dysfunctional IMO. I expect to hear from you Kohl or why should I care if you don't.

I think its absolutely hilarious that any fan of this team actually believes Herb Kohl gives a **** about the Bucks. What in the last 20 years has he actually shown us that he cares? What he pony's up money once in a while to create an illusion that he's trying to build a winning team? The great savior of the team?
Honestly its time to sell. To someone with a vision. Even if that sale means that its possible that the team moves. Bring in some new blood someone who is passionate about sports. I just cant take anymore of this ho hum bull of a team anymore. They are pathetic.

Great post.
I'd say the best in your tenure on RealGM.

Doesn't matter. Kohl has too many apologists, slurpers(including former sports editor of JS) and backers who say how you can criticize an owner in this modern sports era who has an old arena and not only does not threaten to move the team but also doesn't demand a new arena. And according to them he wants to win so bad. To those people Kohl cannot and will never do anything wrong. It will always be the players or the people he hires fault to them.
I can already see it now if Kohl passes away or sells the team and they might move. You'll have these same people saying "See. All you people who complained about the Senator and said he was a bad owner. Dont you wish he owned them now. At least he cared about the community." This is Seattle pt.2 waiting to happen,

My main issue with Herb Kohl is the uncertainty of what happens with the franchise when he decides to sell or passes away. Maybe he has a contingency plan that is being kept secret, but I would assume he wants to protect his legacy and maintain the franchise in Milwaukee after he is gone.
The wishy washy behavior he showed when we thought the Bucks would be sold to MJ and then did a 180 and decided to keep the franchise made many people uneasy. I wish we could fast-forward 20 years from now and see what happens with this team. Sadly, I'm 50-50 that the Bucks will still have "Milwaukee" in front of the team name.

Completely agree, MBBOTT. Herb wouldn't have to hide behind the "I kept the team in MIlwaukee" mantra if he did a better job of being an owner.

Earlier this season, actually before the opener, I sent Herb an email through his .gov website directing many of the questions asked here to him. I've sent him one Email before and got one of his cronies to email me back giving me the company line, but this time the Email was detailed on point and very sincere. As reference I cited Seattle and SonicGate as a precursor to problems I felt aren't being addressed in Milwaukee.
I then volunteered my services (As a recent college grad in sport management) for free if necessary, in any way specifically working to find and fund a way to get a new arena in Milwaukee.
This time I got a reply from a higher up with the Kohl Trust and 4 courtside tickets to a game of my choice, but with no answer at all to my question.
The seats were nice, but I'd much rather have some assurance that there is SOME sort of plan on what happens to this franchise should something happen to Kohl or if he sells the team.

If you were going to lose, then atleast have some appealing players and style of play worth watching and a young team worth supporting.
The Bucks should have took a step back by design this year and waited for the new CBA and then took off then...adding players.
GM Hammond and Skiles erred. Electing to get players they knew and had before instead of building it over with young players.
It takes more time molding chemistry and continuity with older injury prone vets mixed with young players then it does with all rookies which is what the Bucks should have done.
GM's and Coaches think it is easier to plug gap a roster and take shortcuts then drafting well and trading well and letting young players grow who have less bad habits to break.
Resigned
Luke Ridnour
Thomas
Delfino: I would not have brought him back either, but if you were not going to get Salmons...
Drafted
Sanders
Gallon 4 Picks. SHOULD HAVE SIGNED AND KEPT THEM ALL! Or drafted better...Hobson
Jordan
*Bucks liked Lance Stephenson. You could have packaged a pick or two to get him or Bledsoe.
Added thru trade:
Corey Maggette
CDR
Brockman: Cut Gallon for this guy. I would rather took time to groom Gallon. Dummies...Another big Baby Davis Gallon could have been. Tiny Gallon and Jodie Meeks....gone for nothing! Utter stupidity.
I am going to stop because I am getting pissed just typing this crap...

Twas outstanding.
About the only thing I could contest is injury histories. Apart from Mags, I thought Salmons and Gooden were reasonably durable.
Certainly increasing age would be a reason to avoid guys like the afore-mentioned though.

I agree again. I'd have been much happier if we didn't resign Salmons or Gooden and go in with that team. Lots of CDR and Sanders would be OK.
