Tidbits of information

Post#1 » by wichmae » Mon May 16, 2011 4:11 am

I know there is much ado about the whole "insider" thing. Take this for what you will and interpret it as you see fit. I no longer have the same level of friends as I did before but this "source" has been right over time. I literally have lost all interest in professional basketball and really could care less where this information goes. So here you all go.

Draft tidbits.
Cross off Jimmer, Thompson, and Singler at this point. They are looking to get longer and athletic. Three guys they are high one are Faried (really high), Leonard, and Chris Singleton. They also will ook to bring back Hobson.

Team tidbits.
They fully believe this is a 50 win team barring injury and will approach 2012 with that philosophy. Only guy who for sure wont be back is CDR (Think Maggette). LRMAM will try to move on elsewhere and has told the team that. Management feels the biggest weakness on the surrent team is the back up 5. Will use LRMAM and possibly the pick to address that need.

Sampson will be back next year and Redd will also not return unless its a one year vet min deal.

They are really high on a undersized, senior power forward from Morehead State.

The other two they are high on have LRMAM as their chief comparable on nbadraft.net.

Great.

I buy it.

I'd be good with Faried. Singleton is an interesting option and would probably fit Skiles system until he's fired in 2012.

Thanks for the info.

Always appreciate the information as it gives us something new to speculate about, even if it goes nowhere.

My initial thought is that we're still doomed with Hammond. 50 win caliber for sure John. Adding Faried to this bunch does nothing to improve the weakness that actually prevented us from winning ballgames. Someone will say that we need another Bogut insurance big and I'd agree, but adding another big with limited offense who does what we're strong at already gets us nowhere. Doing so at 10 gives me the impression that they feel Faried is Al Horford (or is it Big Ben?). I'll take Marcus Morris, who I just dismissed in the lotto thread, over Faried at 10.

So they've been talking all offseason about finding a shooter (in addition to getting more athletic), but they have no interest in one of the better shooters in the draft. Especially one with an NBA pedigree as his father was a former NBA player. No words.

Sounds like LRMAM was one of those guys that didn't/doesn't want to be here, if those mid-season locker room rumors were true.

I'd greatly prefer Faried to Morris, and Leonard is someone I think is a top ten player in this draft. I'd be fine with either. In order to be a 50ish team, the players are going to need to see someone drafted that they consider legit, otherwise I think this thing totally falls apart. I can understand the love for Faried, especially if LRMAM is moving on. Leonard is more of a project.

Man, I really hope we get LRMAM back. I could see Hammond just letting him go/having another team offer up a large contract.

They've gone on record stating that they'll accommodate players who don't want to be here. So if they stay true to that sentiment, it'll be a question of whether we get anything for Luc on his way out.

Of course, but I'm trying to be optimistic. Currently imagining the potential of our organic offensive growth in '12.

So does that mean we should be thinking about contending teams that could use a defensive stoped for the 2-4 positions that could do some kind of Moute + 2nd for a back up centre sign and trade?
