What are we, 13-11? Why the hell would we fire Skiles? He is exceeding Herb's goals right now.

EDIT: Just realized this thread is old.

Almost to X-mas and I do not see anything changing real soon, curious to see where this rollar coaster sits at the all-star break.

In an ideal world, we get a competent GM who is good at evaluating other NBA teams' talent and executes effective trade maximizing our own assets at the opportune time and has a clear vision for the type of team he assembles.

In that same ideal world, I'd be happy if Hammond was the full-time college basketball talent evaluator under the new GM. Obviously wouldn't happen, but overall I've been pretty happy with Hammond's overall drafting ability.
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

More interesting to me than what we do if we fall well under .500 and at what particular date we decide to fire our GM / Coach is what we do if we don't fail and what not failing looks like.

If we win 45 games do we extend Hammond / Skiles? What if the impossible happens and we somehow win 50? If the meddling is that bad do either of them even stay at that point or does it just drive up their value to some other organization to where they are gone regardless?

If we end up not having a losing season after all, both those guys are going to be seen as having 'turned around' the Bucks.

**** I never thought of that lol. The longer we go with a winning record the more of a chance we'll have the same old **** return. It's a lose/lose situation.

If Sikes wasn't the coach I truly believe this current team would be 19-6 ..my logic behind that is Skiles coaching style has cost us at least 5 games

19-6? We've already lost 7 by double figures this year. So we win one of those, turn all 4 single digit losses into wins, and then keep all the other wins, including the win against the Bulls where our subs got us back into it after being down 27?

Seems fair.

I can't really think of a game that Skiles has "cost" us this year. Do I wish he'd play Henson more? Sure. But I'm hard-pressed to say that that's costing us wins right now. I thought Skiles would have a lot more "eff you" coaching moments on a lame-duck contract year, but he's been a total non-issue in my book this year.

I think the next 7 games could get interesting for Skiles. If we continue to stumble this week into a the dreaded 4 game west coast trip that includes a stop in Toronto, we may be looking at 1-2 wins and gotta think an 18-21 or 17-22 record sets the panic alert in Bucks HQ.

It will be interesting to see how things do shake out now that we are sitting at .500. The Suns game you would think would be a win, however we know no game is a gimme with this team, then they go to Chicago, and then have a Detroit team that's playing pretty well coming here before they head off on a dreaded West Coast trip. I can't see any major changes taking place, unless this team really struggles and dips 6 or 7 games below .500.

I can see us getting there pretty quick though. If you look at our next 16 games (through Feb 6), I very easily can see us going 4-12 or 5-11, especially with Detroit playing a little better. I mean you can pencil losses next to at Bulls, at Lakers, at Suns, at Blazers, at Knicks, at Nuggets, and at Jazz right now. at Raptors, at Cavs, and at Pistons could go either way. Suns, Pistons, Sixers, Warriors, Bulls, and Magic at home I'm guessing 3 wins.

So I definitely think the Skiles heat could escalate. And I don't think it matters as I personally don't think Skiles is the reason for the mess.
