Poll: Would you trade Giannis for Parker or Wiggins?

Post#1 » by paulpressey25 » Mon Jun 16, 2014 10:33 pm

Let's do this. This can be a fast thread over the next couple hours.

Assume when voting or discussing that:

a) Embiid goes #1 to Cleveland

b) We pick Wiggins second or Jabari second, and the Bucks have the option to trade Giannis for whichever guy they didn't take second. I edited the poll to gauge different views on Parker and Wiggins v. Giannis. Therefore, assume the guy you prefer (Parker or Wiggins) goes #2 in this scenario, and you as Bucks GM have the opportunity to ALSO get the other guy by trading Giannis to Philly for their #3 pick.

c) Philly is actually willing to trade us their #3 overall for Giannis and we use the #2 and #3 picks on Parker and Wiggins in some order

Giannis seems to be pretty happy here and has plenty of upside. It's almost a wash but attitude pushes it over the ledge. Keep Giannis.

No: Giannis I think has already shown a lot of potential against NBA level competition. I'm sure Parker and Wiggins will at least be good to very good, but to me going for 13pt, 11rb and 5ast against OKC shows me more than any college game possibly could.

Embiid is the only one in this draft I'm trading Giannis for.

I'l just paste what I wrote in the other thread here.

Call me crazy, but there's no way I'm trading Giannis for a top 3 pick. There's just too much to like about him, as a player and as a person. MKE needs him.

From day one, I agree. Being the #2 pick will do that. But I think Giannis has a better chance at being special more than Parker does (and I like Jabari, don't get me wrong), especially as a 2-way player.

So, I could see Giannis having a bigger impact on sales/marketing in the long run.

I'd definitely have to think about Wiggins more, but I'm not trading him for Parker or Embiid (unless his back is 100% fine, then I'd think hard about it).

All in all, I'm keeping the smoothie-lovin' Greek Freak.

I think I'm sticking with Giannis. Like RS said, I'd probably trade him for Embiid. Would still be tough.

I would take Parker/Wiggins over Giannis easily.

Eye of the beholder, but it is such a toss up. Will Giannis' overall basketball skills catch up to the unique competitive advantage he possesses athletically? If you believe it will, then this is an instant no. He's a great kid, likes Milwaukee, and his overall appreciation of life here is something that has to hold value in the discussion. I don't worry about Parker in that regard as much, but what about Wiggins?

I'm sure those evaluating Giannis' daily progress in practice would be better prepared to extrapolate. I voted yes just for the gamble.

I would trade him for either one.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

That's really tough but I think end of the day I'd pull the trigger on it.

Also why is the poll split like that? Does it really matter which guy we'd take @ #2 or #3... In this scenario we're getting both anyway. EDIT: I guess I should've read the OP better. Still think the poll is split oddly

I imagine you'll have a segment of the board who would trade Giannis for Wiggins, but not for Parker and vice versa.

If Giannis is traded then every game I watched last season was for nothing. He was the first glimmer of hope anybody around here has had in a long time.

Only if we drafted Embiid. So NO.

Well damn now I feel like an idiot. That's obviously it. I forgot not everyone has those 2 guys ranked as closely as I do.

A Parker and Wiggins pairing doesn't give you hope? What about the new owners and a potential new arena?

We have a brand new organization and I don't believe I've ever felt more hopeful. The reward for last year was 1 of Parker, Wiggins, Embiid, or Exum.

Eye of the beholder on any Giannis trade, but hope would not be lost here.

I want a Wiggins and Giannis pairing to watch grow in the future. A Wiggins and Parker pairing would not be as exciting for me...
