This is nit-picking but I found it funny. Knowing Hammond's draft history in the second round (get a guy with ONE legitimate NBA tool and let him show that off...at that point he'll either be a part of a trade package for something or be kept if the tool is something they want long term)...this write up on McRae makes it sound like he's one of the few guys in the entire draft that Hammond would never consider.

McRae is really explosive around the rim, super long, but he shoots a set shot. And he shoots a LOT of them. Weird player.

I've seen this thrown out as a joke so many times out here, but it doesn't dismiss the fact that some players have an element, characteristic, edge or even leadership quality that can help change the culture of a franchise. I for one, value that immensely, after watching years of players with out it, thrust into a leadership role they couldn't earn.

Whether it is Wiggins or Parker, we need someone that is going to lead this team.

It's such a hazy thing to measure. What I do take into account is disciplinary problems, criminal conduct, and other behavioral indicators that can be negatively ascertained. I think a lot of people conflate public relations acuity with personal makeup. The "Andrew Bogut Wears a Suit and Brings a Resume to His Pre-Draft Interview" comes to mind.

Hang on a sec, let me get my dictionary. haha

It can't be measured, it is not quantifiable, it is qualifiable (not sure that is a word). You can't just take the negative end of the spectrum and deny there is a positive end of the spectrum just because you can not measure it.

Anyway, I don't know Wiggins, Exum or Parker enough to make the judgement, but I hope all the interviews, pysch test, etc help this organization boil it down the best talent, and I just hope whichever they are, come with a whole lot of the it factor, edge, competitive streak, alpha or whatever you want to call it.

POST DELETED: I'm being pissy and ultimately, I agree with your greater conclusion.

F*ck Embiid and his agent.

Tellem is the one getting all the hate lately. But he works for Embiid. Embiid is the one who's in charge of all these decisions.

Yes, this is a situation where Silver needs to use his hammer. I don't care which teams he's doing that to.

Am I the only one kind of bummed to hear Jabari Parker intentionally tank a draft workout with a chance to be the #1 draft pick? Even if that means he prefers Milwaukee, that's still some pretty weak sh*t.

I do hope Exum is the pick, even at #2, but I'll admit it's probably not likely. I disagree with those saying that the new owners are scared of the backlash from the dozens of casual fans who say "who?", these seem like ballsy guys and if they think Exum is the clear best player I don't think they'll shy away from taking him, but I'm not sure if the gap between Exum and the wings, if there is any in their minds, is large enough for them to take the gamble.

I feel better about Parker than I do Wiggins. At the end of the day it should come down to talent but hearing the report about this being Jabari's #1 option to play does make me feel good on the inside.

I'm good with either, but prefer Wiggins, and that's who I believe will be wearing a Bucks hat on Thursday.

I definitely won't be upset with Parker, and I really don't see how you can be to be honest. You have to REALLY nitpick or have extremely unrealistic expecations to be mad about drafting Jabari.

I have to admit, I do like the fact this guy wants to be here. Speaks volumes as to organizational culture change.

Chad Ford: One source said he thought Parker "tanked" the workout.

Why? A source says he strongly prefers to play in Milwaukee. The Cavs appear to be aware of this. "Jabari wasn't himself," one source said. "It was clear we weren't his first option."

My guess is that Jabari is as excited about our new ownership as we are.

This may all be "urban legend", but isn't it fun to hear the idea that a player might prefer Milwaukee, and have it be taken seriously? When was the last time that happened?

I've read a ton of the Cavs forum the past month. And a couple of them generally slam Milwaukee, who would want to play there, etc.etc. I'm not sure those particular fans realize the new post Dan Gilbert has ascended to here over the past four years. He's some combination of Herb Kohl, Donald Sterling, Dan Synder and Jerry Jones wrapped into one.

Any report saying that a player tanked a workout makes me think that report is a BS, especially when he was working out of for the team picking #1. Now Jabari may very well prefer playing here, it is closer to home and he seems like a kid that would value that a lot.

No real point debating anymore if it is down to Parker/Wiggins, Cleveland is making the decision for us. Somehow more confident that we'll get the right guy...

Cant believe an alpha dog leader like Parker would tank a workout. Wouldn't set a good precedent.

Cringes to think how close he was to owning the Brewers.
