Question for Bucks fans from a Suns fan - Ersan

Why do you guys consider Ilyasova so expendable? Just curious, because I know he is on the block. I know he had a really subpar season (not sure why...I think injury related) and I assume it is mostly or partially due to having Parker and maybe Henson.

Do you think he is a good stretch four? For example, for the Suns, do you think he could be an adequate replacement for Channing Frye? I know most of you probably haven't watched Suns games, but Frye allowed Dragic and Bledsoe to drive to the basket without an extra big in there because of his range. He was also good in the pick n roll game. Is Ilyasova good at playing pick n roll?

I know you guys may go after Bledsoe too. If you end up with him good luck! Hope you guys can have a big comeback year. Parker should be nice to watch.

Because Jabari Porker is a 4. And he'd be perfect for the Suns imo.

He'd be excellent for the Suns. He's unpopular because he isn't young and tried to play through a bad ankle all season and as a result sucked. He's better than Frye when healthy IMO.

As Twirl noted, Jabari's position is going to be power forward. Kidd basically said so.

Then you've got Giannis, who some in the organization think is a 4 as well perhaps.

Then you've got our recent 2nd round draftee, Johnny O'Bryant who is either a 4 or a 5.

And that's before you get to John Henson, who is a 5, but some still think a 4.

Basically I'm hoping we send you Ersan to replace Frye in as part of a package for either Bledsoe or Ennis.

Not trying to be a jackass, but I think the Suns need to be stripped down to the studs and rebuilt.

Your team reminds me of ours two seasons ago. It makes me sad.

I want to see Arsen as a Spur.

ASAP.

They won more games last year than we have in 13 years in a much tougher conference. If they were in the East at minimum they would've been in the conference finals last year.

Part of the reason I want him moved is for his sake. He's a solid player and deserves to play on another good team before he dies of old age (nothing else can kill him).

Eh. Semis for sure, but they weren't better than the Pacers or Heat.

I agree with MBE. That team's potential is pretty limited.

Yeah, I think most of us here still like Ersan and want to see him succeed. He'd be an excellent replacement for Frye.

They don't beat the first half version of the Pacers but they destroy what that team became in the playoffs.

I know. I just don't think it's going anywhere. They're right around where we were a couple years ago - 8th/9th seed and a mid-first round pick - not usually the recipe for success.

I guess with Hibbert becoming a corpse they might beat them.

We could probably send both Henson and Ersan to PHX. Ersan would replace Frye and Henson can backup both positions. Makes more sense for PHX because they are guard heavy and limited with bigs IMO. What about Ersan and Henson for Bledsoe (S&T) and Goodwin, would PHX consider that?

Is it bad that I saw the title of the post, and before even clicking on it, my first thought was "TAKE HIM!"

Ersan is good when he is healthy, but we are in a rebuilding mode. He's a great stretch four in the right situation, but we have guys who play the same position and are better/have the potential to be better. I don't mind him on the Bucks if he were to come off the bench and provide scoring, but when he's being billed as (and paid like) a starter who is going to take away minutes from Jabari or force him to play out of position at the 3, that's where I think most Bucks fans have problems.

In addition to the points others have made, Ersan apparently is a good teammate, he seems to get on well with everyone. When healthy, which he was not (at all...) last year, he works hard on the boards. Even if he doesn't pull down a lot of offensive rebounds, he has a knack for keeping the ball out of opponents hands and in play. He's adequate.... defensively, and while streaky, he can shoot from anywhere on the court.

A less useful pattern, is the un-scientific observation that he tends to start every season cold. The statistically gifted among us probably can lay some useful numbers to back that up.

The Bucks are rebuilding. Ersan should get the opportunity to play for a real contender.

Yeah, we would have been the 3 seed in the east last year. Many of us on the Suns board felt the same way, but Hornacek did so well with our team that it wasn't going to happen. The funny thing is, we DID strip it down. We traded almost all our vets (Gortat, Dudley, Scola) for unproven guys like Gerald Green, Miles Plumlee and got Eric Bledsoe who had never started. Frye was coming back from taking a whole season off and we were expected to be terrible. I mean some predicted you guys to make the playoffs...they were predicting us to be in the running with Philly as the worst team

And many of the fans wanted Wiggins or Parker, but we ended up with TJ Warren, the guy who beat out Parker for ACC player of the year despite all the Parker hype. Not saying at all he will be better or maybe not close to being as good, but we still got a player that looks to be pretty good.

We are where we are, and we are already really young and winning 48 games in a tough conference. Why strip it down more? Half our team is 20 or younger. We only have one player over like 25 (Dragic).

No, at least none of the fans around here would. We were talking IF we gave up Bledsoe there would have to be a first round pick involved because you don't have enough other sufficient assets (that you would be willing to part with) for us to give up Bledsoe. And many wouldn't want to deal him at all. We are generally high on Goodwin too.

I think Phx would match what you could currently give him. But if you were able to unload enough to give him the complete max, I still think they would match unless they felt they had an offer worth trading for. I don't know the value our FO places on your players so it's hard to know but I would bet a lot of money there is no way they would do a Henson/Ilyasova for Bledsoe/Goodwin trade. I'm guessing 90% of Suns fans would be much more rude on this answer.

Because we...

1. Hate players over 23 years old
2. Hate players paid more than the rookie scale.
3. Didn't draft Dante Exum.

I can understand the idea of BPA when there is a Shaq, Duncan, LeBron, or Davis in the draft, but when there are several prospects on the same level, draft the BPA for need. It just makes everything so much more harmonious. Instead, the Bucks are left signing Bayless for some **** reason.

But the Suns have a really bright GM and good head coach, unlike what the Bucks have had for a long time.
