So now that it seems Knight will be around for awhile, what can we expect? What type of money will he get? Do you think he signs with us for much less? Will he sign an offer sheet that we ultimately match? Will he continue to be the point guard or will they eventually move him off the ball?

My reaction largely depends on how much cash Knight is looking for.
But irrespective of that, I really do not think Knight has demonstrated that he can be a floor leader. If Kidd believes that he can turn Knight into a real PG,

There is definitely a place for knight on this team going forward (especially if he improves), but I don't think it's as a primary ball handler and the price has to be right. 10 mil or less you have to sign him up IMO.

This will seriously impact my enjoyment of the Bucks for the next 4 (God, I hope not 5) years. He's obviously been discussed ad nauseam here and I'm not sure there is much more to say, but Lasry coming out and giving a vote of confidence that he wants Knight here probably isn't just something he did to be nice or to grease the wheel. I don't really see the advantage.
At least they said they wouldn't match any offer sheet he signs. That would have me a ton more worried.

Will be interested to see what happens. Hopefully we let the market dictate his price and go from there, not sure there's many teams out there who would offer him something substantial.

Can one of you guys get the actual transcription of what he said? He didn't say "match any offer" but rather "we're going to get a contract done?"

Don't read too much into statements like this. With restricted guys you always want to give the impression you will match to keep leverage in a sign and trade.

i'd be lying if i said i wasn't extremely disappointed
i don't understand how we can be using all these advanced metrics, have all these stats PhDs on the payroll, and using that san francisco stats company (name is slipping me right now), and STILL think re-signing knight is a good idea.
it's like "thanks for telling us he's not worth the money and he's actually kind of a hurtful player, but we're going to re-sign him anyways"

Not surprised at all. Our little echo chamber is the only place the whole "Brandon Knight sucks" thing gets any traction.
If we do keep him, I'll wait to see what the deal is before I judge whether I like it or not. I'm fine with him being on the team long term as a player.
