I don't think so. I don't love it, but I like it. I think the timing of the song is really good, too.

That said, the rest of the songs I have heard are indeed garbage.

ETA Wait..deja vu. We talked about this song on the last page. And you clearly now mean the album and not the song. Disregard :P

After a couple of listens I actually think the album holds together quite well and I like it (I think I'd even say I like it a lot!). As a whole piece I thought the album did a pretty good job of conjuring up reflections on modern life, instant gratification and the anxieties it can bring.

I didn't really like Creature Comfort when I first heard it, but within the context of the album I suddenly thought it was actually pretty great- and I feel like that was in large part because of its position on the album and the story that had been told up until that point.

I like Creature Comfort and the last 2 tracks (not including the rehash of the title track). The title track is fine.

I've listened a few times and it is a decent listen. I guess that my issue is that I'm aware that artists evolve, but I don't like the fact that a group that has tugged on grandiose tracks turned into a funk/ABBA cover band essentially. Just seems like they stripped away all strengths and they made a mediocre Daft Punk album with Win Butler lightly singing over the top of it.

I guess they're right in instant gratification. I'm annoyed that I have to wait 2-3 more years for my favorite band to make something resembling to what they do well.

Today
You were far away
And I
Didn't ask you why
What could I say
I was far away
You just walked away
And I just watched you
What could I say
How close am I
To losing you
Tonight
You just close your eyes
And I just watch you
Slip away
How close am I
To losing you
Hey, are you awake
Yeah I'm right here
Well can I ask you
About today
How close am I
To losing you
How close am I
To losing

The National is my favorite band right now. So good. Saw them recently in concert. Fantastic. No I gotta go listen to their stuff. How about Guilty Party?

'I say your name
I say I'm sorry
I'm the one doing this
There's no other way
It's nobody's fault
No guilty party
I just got nothing, nothing left to say

It all, all catches up to me
It all, all catches up to me all the time'

I feel you bro. I feel you.

I was essentially a National groupie a few years ago. I think I've seen them ~9 times including 4 times in a 9 day period.

War on Drugs and National within 2 weeks?? Sign me up.

Give Mondo Cozmo a listen. Album isn't nearly as good as their live show but in 9 years of Lollapalooza I don't think I have seen a better 2:00 show.

I've posted about them a few times earlier this year. Old Friends is incredible and moving - had brought tears to my eyes.

That song always reminds me of the movie, "Warrior". Perfect song for a great movie.

PVRIS just dropped their 2nd album and it's so good. Probably my favorite band since they arrived (yes I'm just gonna spam this thread for a day or two with their stuff).

Never heard them before so i gave a few songs a listen. To poppy for my tastes, but as with any music, to each their own.

Anybody, new Queens of the Stone Age? Lovin' it! It's like a really really polished Era Vulgaris, which is a very underrated album IMO (though the back third suffers a bit)
