Seton Hall probably jumped ahead of MU in seeding. Michigan State might do the same. If Providence wins, might be flirting with a play-in game again.

Yeah things have become a little nerve-wracking for MU now.

I am getting sick of this teams lack of toughness...great shooters but they just get bullied by bigger teams to easy

Indiana doing MU a favor by whooping Iowa right now. Lunardi moved TCU into "Next 4 out" with their win over Kansas. MU will want them to get knocked out tomorrow too.

Wojo obviously needs to recruit more size. They have Fisher and Heldt inside, that's it. For as great as Howard and Rowsey have been offensively, both are small.

Then again, Delgado is a beast in the paint and has done this to plenty of other teams. I believe he leads the nation in rebounding. Seton Hall will be a tough out in the tournament.

Losing a bit in seeding may benefit Marquette. Multiple analysts had Marquette as either an 8th or 9th seed.

I'd rather then be a 10th or 11th seed instead vs a 8th/9th seed where a first round win puts them in line for a game with a one seed.

I understand the logic, but if enough teams leapfrog them they could end up in Dayton. And K-State just beat Baylor. Lunardi just moved them into his last 4 in.

If KSU and Xavier win tomorrow, things get interesting. And this all without even considering if USC beats UCLA tonight.

I think they avoid Dayton, but even if they ended up in a play in game, i don't see that as a horrible situation.

This Marquette team isn't good enough to make a deep run in the tournament IMO, so one bit of upside to being in a play in game is they'd get the national stage all to themselves for that game. A good showing and win would bring positive attention to the program. Then potentially win another game or two, it's a really great story.

FWIW, i'm not saying i'd rather see Marquette in Dayton vs say getting a 10 seed, just that it wouldn't be all bad unless they got smoked in that game.

They dodged a bullet with UCLA winning a squeaker against USC. Looking at the matrix and who is still alive, the remaining threats are:
-KState
-Seton Hall
-Xavier
-TCU
-Michigan State
-Vanderbilt

and any OUT team winning their conference tourney.

Fischer is a pretty soft defender, and when he gets into foul trouble, we don't really have any 4s that can slide in and play the 5 effectively like Marquette fans are used to with those Buzz teams that had Crowder/Butler/Hayward/Gardner. Heldt is a decent defender but he gives you next to nothing offensively.

I think that MU is probably squarely in unless a lot of the noted bad stuff happens, but I don't think MSU is on the bubble even with a loss today. Probably get a little benefit of the doubt for Izzo, but a lot of the losses were early to dominant teams.

I wouldn't say the teams listed are fighting with MU for a slot, I'd say they are fighting for seeding and bypassing the play-in game. All of those teams were right behind MU on Bracket Matrix, who now has them as the third 10 seed.

MSU going down is good for my Golden Gophers and my Golden Eagles.

If you transfer around enough or get enough degrees, you'll corner most Final Fours and have a no-lose situation.

It will be interesting to see what the committee does with Xavier. They have a pretty good RPI, but injuries have really hurt them and their record vs top 50 teams is weak. Seton Hall i see as a lock to avoid a play in game and at worst be a 8th/9th seed. They have some nice pieces and IMO could make a nice run if threes fall for them because they are tough and Delgado is one of the better centers in the country.

Almost everything broke Marquette's way today. Things to still watch for:

-Vandy possibly passing them
-Someone besides Cindy or SMU winning the AAC
-Bama winning the SEC

All 3 of those things probably need to happen for MU to get bumped down to Dayton.

Lunardi has Gophs vs. Eagles in a 6/11 matchup.

That would be a good matchup. If Minny pulls this out against Michigan it would change it up. And especially if they win today AND tomorrow.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I would rather have Troy beat Duke and play them in round 2, but that's not happening
