Rashad Vaughn Development/Expectations

Post#1 » by MilHammer » Wed Jul 6, 2016 12:03 am

I don't know if there is a thread dedicated to tracking Vaughn's development, but I thought it would be a good time to also start discussing our expectations for him during the Summer League and the upcoming season. After a dismal rookie campaign, what do you guys think would be promising numbers for him to put up and how do you think he would be best utilized with our current roster? And with the addition of Brogdan and Delly, and possibly MCW's exit, how do you think he fits into Kidd's rotation?

I hope he develops into not one of the worst players in the league.

I think he could develop into a solid bench scorer/shooter. I'd probably just throw him in the D-League and pray though.

Just make his open shots & give effort on defense.

I was impressed with his defensive effort, I think once it slows down for him, he'll be a pretty good defender.

I hope for the best because he's 19 years old but I have no expectations that Vaughn will ever be a starter in the NBA. I will be happy if he can make a big improvement from last season, especially with his three point shot.

He's still very young and seems to have a good feel for the game, so I'm still somewhat hopeful he can become a decent roleplayer.

I do like the fact that Vaughn isn't learning from Bayless and Mayo in practice anymore....

The kid is talented, needs to grow up. I think he works his way into being a solid backup SG by the end of the year. Hope he gets more opportunities to work through stuff.

I still think he's going to be a scorer a la whatshisface. Uhh, you know, that one guard -- man... On the tip of my tongue. Screw it. I can't remember his name.

Marcus Thornton. Yeah. A more athletic Marcus Thornton. Bench buckets.
