Wisconsin Badgers 2017-18 Season Thread
It's a dead time for UW hoops so we might as well have a new thread for the upcoming new season.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2017-18 Season Thread
Aside from Benson of Oregon (down to UW vs. Grand Canyon (where his brother coaches)), Badgers are now looking at grad transfer Lexus Williams from Valpo. Williams is not very interesting. Seems like maybe a clone of Jordan Hill.

I liked the kid from Southern Illinios that was rumored but haven't heard anything on him for a while. They have two spots, i'd be fine with Benson and the SIU kid.

I'm assuming you're talking about Illinois State's MiKyle McIntosh. He declared for the draft but said he's coming back to grad transfer if he doesn't get a 1st round grade. He probably won't get that. We hired an assistant from Illinois State so there's a decent chance we can also land him.

Yup, mixed up Southern and State. Yea, that sounded very likely but now it's been like 2 weeks with no talk of him. I'd rather have him than either of the guards. Especially the new one today.

Yeah, well I think the silence is due to him going through the draft process and waiting for a grade. Once that's set, he'll probably get back into gear on the transfer process.

Yea hopefully Benson chooses us over his hometown, brother assistant coached GCU. He already removed Butler from his visits.
MiKyle McIntosh would be another perfect fit, I'm hoping at least one comes.

I think Benson is going to GCU, per some adamant insiders.

Trevor Anderson is transferring for Green Bay to Wisconsin.
Could help bring in Hauser.

Does Anderson have to sit out a year?

Yes, and unless somebody else is planning on leaving, there is no scholarship for Hauser.
We've had one open scholarship that has been rolling over from Dearring I believe and now one for Hill. Herro was taking the Dearring one, Anderson is taking the Hill one. We could still fit a grad transfer in this year if we wanted to.

Maybe he doesn't have the athletic skill to be a great player but we just got 3 years of a guy that shot almost 40% on 3s (5 attempted/game) as a walk on. In Gard we trust.

Yeah, still processing this one since it came so far out of left field. It's insane that they got him to walk on. Can't say I know a ton about him as a player though.

I don't know anything about him from last season (I did not watch GB), but he was stellar as a prep. Saw a few of his games, and in-person once. He could light it up.

Surprising transfer. Good get though of course, and something that never ever would have happened under Bo Ryan.

So if he is walking on, he doesn't have to sit a year?

In his statement he said its been his dream to play for the Badgers, so it looks like he's willing to make that sacrifice.
