This has been such a confusing process. So they don't like Zanik? Hopefully they make a decision soon.

Re: Woj: Closing in on Horst, to be paired with vet front office person
most embarrassing GM search in professional sports
this is what happens when you have too many cooks in the kitchen. reminds me of the Packers old board of trustee's before they wised up and hired Bob Harlan to run football Ops.
too bad these guys aren't smart enough to do such a thing....and instead play with the team like it's a toy to them

makes me wonder how these guys are billionaires......they do not seem to have any understanding of how to run a business.

So Zanik was the Lasry/Kidd guy. Edens got sick of the Lasry/Kidd monopoly. They agree to hire the guy who learned from the best yes man in the business after their other choice agreed to a deal in Denver after we took forever deciding.

Well it is their toy so they can do what they want with it. Doesn't mean we have to like it tho.

You are being way, way too ridiculous here. They obviously have identified the best candidate with a thorough search by highly trained individuals who specialize in this sort of thing.

Interesting how this board's darling, Edens, and villain, Lasry, have been sort of recast in this. Cinematographer has been seriously laying into Edens on Twitter.

Re: Woj: Closing in on Horst, to be paired with vet front office person
In all honestly I'm surprised people aren't atleast a little happy they didn't go with Kidd & Lasrys guy. All I've heard about the past few weeks is how Lasry & Kidd were ruining this team and why don't we hire Zanik. Well it turns out Zanik was Kidd & Lasrys guy. I know nothing about Horst so I can't have an opinion on him but at least this shows Kidd & Lasry don't have full control
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

That Lasry power base thing is my theory. Edens simply wanted a neutral guy in there. We have to see who the veteran helper is. And if Horst knows his stuff.
So much we don't know. What role did Zanik have in the free agent signings last year? Was Horst the secret genius behind Hammond's drafting? Is Horst simply a political player exploiting the rift here versus the real deal as a talent evaluator? Can Horst fire Kidd if he wants to?

Well it could be that Edens was mad he didn't have control like Lasry and Kidd do so he decided to get a candidate they all have control over. Everyone wins in the end, except for Bucks fans.

doesn't make it any less embarrassing than watching 3 five-year-olds decide how to share a new bike they pooled their money together to buy

Re: Woj: Closing in on Horst, to be paired with vet front office person
Two questions our media needs to ask but won't....
1. Why wasn't Horst in consideration in the first round of candidates?
2. What sort of control will he have with all basketball decisions?

Why should you go to jail for a crime someone else noticed? You don't need double talk... You need Bob Loblaw.

LOL. At this point, as long as it's not Kidd, I suppose that's a win.

Makes me feel like Edens was pouting in the corner saying " I don't want Zanik, hmpf". And then Lasry said "ok big guy" while gently comforting his shoulder "who do you want, who'd put a smile on your face"
Just then Horst walks by with coffee and dunking donuts.
"You there boy, do you work here?"
"Why yes, I am..."
"You have a night crawler in there?"
"Yeah?"
"You got the job!"

Re: Woj: Closing in on Horst, to be paired with vet front office person
I refused to get all up in arms when a handful of candidates were revealed. Then another handful of candidates and its like, "hey, at least these guys are doing their due diligence." Like most people on Planet Earth, I don't know anything about John Horst. But this is beginning to look real bad. I'd much rather give total control to Billy McKinney if we're going to keep this thing in the family. But for the thousandth time, LED needed to completely clean house when they bought the team. A situation like this was almost predictable. And also for the thousandth time, we'll sink or swim with Jason Kidd.
