We are maxed out of cap space too...
Now we wait if we can dump a contract or make a trade

There's a deal out there somewhere for Monroe. Just a matter of whether or not Horst pulls the trigger.

It shouldn't be a priority, considering he was the 2nd most valuable player to a playoff team last season. This year he should be relegated to 3rd with Middleton returning to health presumably, but that's still worth the money, for one season.
Of course if the right deal comes along, we should pull the trigger. But passed the draft, I don't know what that would be right now. We going to get the next Paul George or Jimmy Butler rental, using Monroe as part of the package including a prospect, and do we even want to do that at this stage in our development?

Going all-in would look like this.
Step 1: Monroe and Hawes to SA for Aldridge.
Why Milwaukee? Aldridge would be an upgrade.
Why San Antonio? You shed LMA and open up a max slot for next season.
You could also make the same offer to Cleveland for Love, which would afford us another shooting threat and give Cleveland a max slot for next season, but I don't think LeBron signs off on it.
Step 2: Sign Lowry to 5 year, 150 contract. Don't have the cap space, so you need to sign and trade.
Step 3: Call Toronto. Convince them that it's time for them to rebuild.
Trade: Middleton, Henson, Delly, Telly, First for DeRozan, Lowry (S&T)
Why does Toronto do it? It gives them a chance to rebuild with a nice core piece in Middleton. Allows them to dump DeRozan.
Why does Milwaukee do it? Time to make a run. Sheds some contracts off the books.
Lowry/Brogdon
DeRozan/Snell/Brown
Giannis/Parker/
Aldridge/Wilson
Thon/Wilson

Attach assets if you have to, but we absolutely have to shed Henson/Mirza this summer.

There are exceptions to the rule, but I'm generally not big on bumping threads and quoting people out of spite. That's usually petty and self-serving.
However, I think for the purpose of pointing out the irony, and perspective, it would be warranted to remind people right now what many were saying about the Henson and Teletovic deals at the time. There was a large contingent acting like they couldn't hurt us. Now some are willing to attach assets to just get them out of here, and many are having the same attitude toward the Snell signing that there is little to no risk with it.

We should move Monroe for whatever draft pick/s we can get. Then use those picks, and some of our own from 2019 on to get rid of Delly, Teletovic, Henson, Snell.
Then just fill the bench with one-year deals and cheap flyers. Our core can bring this team to the playoffs without us being capped out to do so.
That way we'd have $40m~ or so of cap space for 2019-20 (assuming Jabari gets around $20m), when Middleton probably opts out and we could recruit a starter FA before re-signing him.
As things stand we'll be capped out in 2019-20 with $31m committed to Snell, Delly, Henson...

I can't think of anything worse than 'going all-in' now.

I agree. It shouldn't be a priority but it may be a necessity to shed some crap. I'll go as far as saying without a viable replacement, we don't make the playoffs next year without Monroe. People are quick to just want to trade just to trade, but losing Monroe has a huge domino effect to this team IMO. As stated, he was our second best playoff performer and our third best player overall. Behind him we have Hawes and a bunch of stretch 3's. Oh and zero power forwards. Thon is still gonna get pushed around by anyone legit and extended minutes brings foul trouble.
Be careful what you wish for

If we stay under the tax, yeah. If not it's like $5m. We're just under it right now.
We shouldn't even be over the cap with this group of players though, never mind worrying what kind of MLE we're getting.

I think yes, but we're probably already over the luxury cap.

That's all well and good, but do you think the Bucks' ownership/FO have the foresight, intelligence, and patience to do that?

With Kidd as a coach and without Monroe we are a bottom 10 team. None of our bench can score.
I mean, if lottery is the goal, I understand the logic of the trade, otherwise wait till deadline to give at least some time for Thon to mature.

We are 920K under luxury tax.
I believe we have a 8.4M Mid Level Exception to offer ...
Beasley and Isaiah Canaan would be my picks.
Gerald Green on target list too
