I edited the title because Woj absolutely did not say Giannis "is leaving Milwaukee". He simply made an observation that everyone has made, i.e. if the Bucks don't get their act together they could easily lose Giannis in 2021.

Our owners are billionaires (with a b). Not concerned.

What the hell are we supposed to do this season? Hammond signed some bad but not devastating contracts but we do have a solid young core. If Brogdon improves and Thon is the real deal. I wouldn't be too worried. Giannis isn't going to hold it against the organization that Jabari keeps getting hurt or Teletovic didn't pan out.

Not waiting a couple more years before firing Kidd would be a good start. Starting to make intelligent free agent and trade moves would also help.

You're right its just the way he compares it to Jazz and Hayward situation really portraits it like there is no hope for us.

The only difference is that Giannis like Milwaukee, could that be a huge factor for him staying compared to Hayward?

I think fans should really prime themselves for Giannis making the best decision as it relates to winning basketball games when the time comes.

The whole "I'll never leave Milwaukee until..." tweet will be as iconic as Durant's if we don't get our **** together and maybe even if we do...

Pretty much. When Giannis got here, he latched on to Milwaukee and the people because he had to. Can't even imagine coming from another country like he did. But alas, as he becomes more comfortable with America, and most importantly, as he gets other players in his ear, he will become more and more open to other options.

Two problems the NBA has to fix, but it may already be too late:
FA - Teams have to be compensated handsomely for losing superstars by no fault of their own
Draft - It's become barely a notch above the MLB draft - pathetic. Remember the good ole days ?

Without fixing these two things its going to be all about the next big FA and nothing else will matter
The NBA is imploding under the weight of it's own success - shocker

Its not just one season but the collective of dumb crap we are doing. Look at Vasquez and MCW trades, look at Henson and Plumlee contracts, look at how we are in a mess and playing with 2 rookies as starters while our cap is maxed, look at our FO struggle and the GM mess up. All these add up to the pool that makes our organization unhealthy. We need to change and change FAST.

Nothing here really. Most of us have been saying the same thing since he signed the extension.

The stuff about Giannis' loyalty and how much he loves Milwaukee doesn't mean that much to me. That's not even a shot at Giannis, he's a great dude and I'm sure if things are good here he would like to stay. But every person has their breaking point and the Bucks are dangerously close to if not already heading in that direction. Woj is 100% right...Utah did everything right and still lost their guy. We're a cluster****.

Yeah nothing here that should be a shock or surprise. Why people think he'll automatically stay here is beyond me. He's no different to everyone else. He's a star player and wants to play for an organisation that understands that.

We'll see..

We say this every year and then we see our FO making talks about getting Rose and what not. I really hope our organization will wake up sooner than later.

Except a highly respected national writer is actually saying it. This board can piss and moan about our **** up owners all we want. It doesn't amount to anything. But a highly respected national writer says it and I bet it gets their attention. As a fan base we need this. The Bucks are a **** show. It is time to start cleaning up our act.

I think we need to give Delly/Telly one more year. Let them have an off-season with the team and hopefully they play like they should. Delly was playing well at the end of the year. The only player i really want off the team is Henson.

I think every small market got nervous over the events of the past week when George forced his way out of Indy and Hayward (a very good player but not a superstar) turned away $45 million additional of guaranteed money to leave a good Utah organization to go to Boston.

Unfortunately the CBA doesn't have an opt-out until 2022. But if more guys leave you'll finally see a true franchise player tag. Would be easy to do.

Right, except a number of high profile players forced their way out of their teams. This is basically the question I would ask the owners if I met them;
"With all the star movement and super teams, what are we doing to a) become a destination or b) protect ourselves from being the next Pacers/Utah/Okc"

We seem to be heading down a path that is producing bad results for teams with one star. The game has changed and this org is so busy investing in facial coding they cant seem to help themselves from doing idiotic things.

Agreed. Every bit helps, especially Woj. The past two weeks have brought a number of casual fan, Bucks blogger types over to the side of questioning why the front office is structured that way. That's been a very important development.

Previously that block of guys were always wondering why we kept bitching over here on this site. Now a few of them "get it".

would totally be a bucks thing to lose a guy whose meter started pretty much maxed out loving milwaukee/the org

then just wiped out by dumb move by dumb move
