Summer League Game 3 - Clippers Vs. Bucks - 9:00 PM CDT - ESPN2

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Mon Jul 10, 2017 12:25 pm

Game 2 was certainly better than game 1. I wish they played more than 3 SL games.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

They do. The tournament seeding is after tonight's games. They get at least two more.

I'm still curious about Thon's "pre-planned" return to Milwaukee last night as reported by Matt V. in MJS. Seems you might have announced then that Thon would only be playing the first two games then.

They play more games, they seed a tournament after tonight's game so they will be playing a couple more games at least.

I wouldn't be surprised if they didnt plan on playing Thon, Vaughn, and GP2 more than 2 games

Personally don't think Thon played any better or worse than what I expected. He's a role player and those don't work in the scrum known as summer league.

But I do think there is a portion of Bucks fandom that have this guy penciled in as piece #2 behind Giannis that were let down. And the situation got a bit out of hand when the Reddit guys and the new guys at Brewhoop quickly embraced that Thon "foul for charity" thing yesterday online. Have to feel like someone in the front office believed it smart to stop that stuff before it got more traction.

I'm curious to see how Vaughn follows up his breakout performance.

I'm going to be disappointed with anything less than an 87 point outing from him tonight

If he can't do that against summer league scrubs we should just cut him.

I"m not sure a good game in your third year of summer league against the Nets scrubs could be considered "breakout" but who knows, maybe it was. I know, I know, he's young, yada yada.

I know, we finally used him the role he is best suited for and he looked great, yada yada, worst player in the history of the NBA his rookie year, yada yada

The onus is definitely on him to keep it going, but there has been a small contingent on these boards that pleaded for patience with Vaughn because there is talent there. But he needs to be in OJ Mayo role not the Jason Terry role.

Thornwell vs Vaughn/Brown is a nice matchup.

Eh Thon is a fun swing for the fences guy, but I think the majority of Centers struggle with a complete game until they are 24-25 and i'm kind of putting him in the Tyson Chandler timeline. The nice part is the hustle on defense which will continue to earn him minutes that he needs to develop everything else. Until Thon gets stronger in the lower body he's going to struggle against freaks like Tavares.

Jamil Wilson tore it up yesterday hope someone signs him, still not a fan of Brice Johnson. Wish we'd signed Wiltjer instead of Telly last summer.

It's probably actually a good thing Thon is ducking out earlier, the way he was recklessly flying around yesterday I was worried he was going to hurt himself. That one play he lost his shoe, the next possession he took another spill out of bounds. It's nice that he's not Bogut or he would be out until the all-star break.

I was actually wondering if he got hurt. Thought he was holding his leg and not his normal speed. Could have been the shoe thing though, I hadn't realized he lost a shoe.

I think he got sent home because he was hurting his trade value, and I'm only partly kidding. He did not look good or improved at all.
