Jesus christ, thank god. He would have continued and absolutely **** over his upcoming season. I know Greece fans wanted him to play but knee soreness and not being able to perform workouts is just too risky.

Clearly that knee wasn't getting any better through playing.

The reason the post was deleted because Giannis added new line"

Which roughly translate into.

"Last year i had the option to "freeze" my contract before i sign it. This year i dont have this choice. I am injured, pain is still there and i have to get better."

It's OK Giannis get well soon!

I said it when the news of the Chinese event came out that the Bucks doctors will go there to check Giannis and if his pain is still there Giannis will make a simple statement to explain everything and drop out of the Eurobasket.

In Greek? I don't see anything in English.

No offense to you or any other Greeks, but it's probably pretty easy for Greek fans to jump to conclusions and blame the Bucks for this. Unless there is evidence showing otherwise, I'm going to assume he made the decision on his own.

Yes its in greek but short version is that Giannis wanted to play, tried to delay as much he could but Bucks shut him down.
This is also why some take Giannis new line out of context when only thing Giannis is saying that he would do anything to play for NT but he is really injured.People take it that Bucks use their contract to shut down Giannis and hence the ****.

It seems that he couldn't use his knee at 100% since the beginning of the NT training camp, and tried play through it because he really wanted to play for the NT. Pain didn't subside, and as soon as the Bucks doctors examined him it was decided that he shoudl sit out the competition. No bad feelings, health is above everything else. Really hope it's something really minor and won't hamper him at all.

Move him to center already. Should have done it last year. The bruises from post play are just a nuisance, but the wear and tear on his legs from his style of play could ruin his career. No person that tall has ever been even remotely as active all over the court for as many mpg as Giannis last year that I can remember. He plays like Pippen but with the size of Olajuwon. Not sustainable.

And get rid of the coaching stuff and their stupid frickin' schemes too.

I hope it's true and the Bucks illegally shut down Giannis while he is ok or he will be ok in a few days just because I want Giannis to be healthy and has zero issues with his knee.

In any way I trust more the Bucks doctors than the Greek Basketball Confederation because I know that the latter are dirty old people for years now and won't stop in anything just to prove their side right..

After the few friendlies I watched I'm sure that even with Giannis in our lineup we wouldn't have won a medal. The roster has black holes, the coach is terrible and the center position, which is essential for a good team in Fiba tournaments, is a nightmare.

In three years when Papagiannis is ready with Koufos beside him and Bouroussis out and a capable coach around the team in order to build some chemistry I think it will be the proper time for Giannis to lead us in glory.

The article is by Greek basketball federation DIRECTLY blaming the Bucks for not allowing Giannis to play and putting Giannis in the middle to take the blame.
Giannis wanted to play but had no options hence why you see him mentioning his disappointment.

WHY, WHY THE **** we are doing this, WHY.

The Bucks are doing Giannis and the GNT a favor if they're making him sit out. It is NOT GOOD to play through this. See Danny Granger.

Would be very short-sighted for everyone involved for Giannis to keep pushing through this.
