You definitely don't need to play the old ones. This is gonna be a much different experience.

welp, looks like I'll be downloading this then. It' s only money.

I've been bummed about a lack of a Mac port for a while.

I read that if it does well enough that it might get a port. It certainly has done very well, but still no news on a port.

I know you're a Mac guy - I am too. But with the amount you game I'm surprised you don't have a PC, also. You should just jump in, man :D

It's actually a completely different mythology than the previous games. It's Norse now, versus Greek. The character is supposed to have some continuity, but surely, the story will be quite stand-alone. And based upon the success and incredible reviews, I'm guessing it will be the start of a new trilogy.

Tell us how it is once you jump in!

I'm not going to get anything done at work today. God of War is downloading as we speak. Gonna try and sneak out a bit early.

I miss the days when the big games came out on Tuesdays, when I could get away with playing them at night. I'm not gonna have a free minute all weekend.

I made the rookie mistake of talking it up at work about how excited I was to get it today. Then it dawned on me that calling in sick today would have been pretty questionable.

#filmstruck4 was a hashtag started by Criterion/Filmstruck and people are supposed to choose the 4 films that define/influence them the most. It’s branched out to video games now.

Have a couple hours today to play and God of War is pretty great. Like the combat.

Always loved the God of War franchise, but I can't it stand it when games make baby-sitting a kid an integral part of the story/gameplay.....

My first thought was that was going to get really old, but it's actually a super useful gameplay mechanic because with a press of a button he'll distract a tough enemy long enough for you to wail away.

Not a spoiler or anything, but if that first battle against The Stranger is any indication this game is gonna be a blast. I'm bummed I'll have to put it away until Sunday.

Yeah, that was awesome. I'm really impressed at the overhaul to their fighting system and how each fight can be different. I rely heavily on Atreus and his bow so I pump points into that, my nephew went full Kratos' axe and it's amazing how different our experience has been. Both very good.

I'm just now playing it for the first time since Friday mid-day and obviously super early. I like how difficult it can be if you don't have a good strategy. Like you, I think I'm gonna be dumping a bunch of points into that kid's bow.

I took the plunge into Monster Hunter World. Any tips on how to beat the fire breathing Trex?

Concentrate on the tail at first, and stay near his feet. When you're attacking you always want to be on his heels. When he retreats and lies down, wail on him with your best combos. This is a battle that seems tough at first but it'll probably be the one you complete the most because once you get the hang of it you're gonna end up farming him for a nice early set of gear and weapons. Super easy.
