I've recently come to the realization that 30 Rock is better than PandR and the Office.

It's good, but it's ok to have a wrong take like this one here.

I agree that Parks and Rec, 30 Rock, and Curb Your Enthusiasm all are elite comedies as well.

I do think recency plays a part here... Simpsons, Office, and Arrested Development are great examples of shows that at their peak were blowing people’s minds. But when they limp through a poor final season or two (or 18, Simpsons) it diminishes the peak moments and impact in even die hard fans’ minds.

Parks and Rec, interestingly enough, finished strong and I think leaves it much higher up on lists as a result. Parks and Recs was really, really good. But I think a lot remember it as great, because it was never awful. Choncords never sucked but was only two seasons. Contrast that with Office and Simpsons that were great, but also then awful. So we remember them as lesser works.

If any netflix subscription- holders are in the market for great stand-up comedy, check out James Acasters new 4-part (!) special. Funny, smart, creative and different.

If that is not your cup of tea just re-watch John Mulaneys New In Town because Everybody knows that that is brilliant

All this talk about recent comedies just proves Michael Schur is a genius.

Saw A Quiet Place. Enjoyed it. I like Krasinski (who also directed)
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Arrested Development is probably the best of the series mentioned here, but also suffers the most from dated references. Same goes with The Office and 30 Rock. Parks and Rec, wisely I believe, avoided grounding the humor in biting pop culture references and instead crafted its own mythos, which will make it age better than the other two.

HBO's Paterno doesn't offer anything new, which is a bummer. Thought it was well made for the most part.

Sweet mother of christ the last ten minutes of last night's Legends of Tomorrow were so amazingly glorious. Like stand up and cheer wonderful. What an incredible, silly, fun show.

Finally started watching the Sopranos and I now get why it's considered one of the best shows ever. Nearly done with the first season and it's already captured my interest more than Breaking Bad ever did.

All the comedies mentioned have my approval too. I only went back a couple pages so I'm not 100% if mentioned yet, but to add to the conversation with some current network comedies. Blackish, Goldbergs, and Last Man on Earth are all very good shows worth watching, to go along with B99 which has been mentioned as a current network show.

Also, could the Walking Dead just finally end. I'm so done with it but I'm so far in I can't quit it now.

Barry on HBO is goofy. Can't decide if I like it or not. Good cast, Bill Hader, Stephen Root, Henry Winkler

I got busy last fall and wasnt able to watch TWD. Still wanna go back and watch through, b/c like others, I feel too invested to stop, but it's hard to get motivated. Might just read wiki summaries and watch the eps that are rated highly on IMDB at this point once they drop on Netflix.

I'm still slugging along and have watched all the episodes. It's basically been the exact same thing for multiple seasons now with nothing really happening. Although we're finally getting back to some solid episodes and **** getting ready to actually happen again.

You know...I've been thinking about giving The Sopranos a full treatment. This little tidbit gives me the encouragement I need.

Sopranos was good but not as good as Breaking Bad imo.

I'm watching Paterno right now. It's OK, I always enjoy Pacino.

I’m really trying to let it go and delete all the episodes on my DVR. It is so boring now and repetitive but it’s hard to cut ties. There is no end game for the show at all. They will just drag it out forever.

It's fair though. Season 4, my clear top season, impacts me nearly every day.
