It sounds like they're trying to be progressive and inclusive. Even if it's politically motivated, what does it hurt? people will bitch about anything.

Yea the straw thing is not a “little deal”. Single serve plastics are one of the country’s biggest issues right now. There’s a reason entire cities are trying to ban them and it’s not to be “progressive”.

Straws are fricken pointless 95% of the time anyways

when you type out things with quotations marks do you make the air quotes movements with your hands and chuckle to yourself?

I like the ban on plastic straws, as it is an easy way to help limit negative environmental impacts from the arena. But, I hope that whoever made that decision is aware that some people with disabilities are dependent on straws to be able to drink. This isn't a small issue for them. I hope they keep a few around, maybe behind the counter, just for that reason.

I hope they use the Bottoms Up beer tap system. I first saw it in Nashville at the Bridgestone Arena.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

They already use this at some of the busy games/events at the small concession pop ups around the pagoda. NCAA tournament has used it the last two trips I believe.

I just hope they don’t take away my cheap cans of Old Milwaukee.

Good response. At least they limited shovel expenditures.

I guess no new structures should be built and everything should be reused or repurposed until it literally falls down.

On the horizon, but probably not in the new arena:

Went on a tour yesterday and the rep said there's still something to be announced before Kevin Hart.

But, I didn't really believe him.

If they had something big, we'd know by now.

Yeah I'd be surprised if there is a major act announced that will play that soon.

Makes sense that season ticket sales would go up for the first year of the arena. Should be a great venue to watch games.

I think there is a valid argument that could be made on how much of this is PR versus actually caring about the environment. It's not like they are banning red meat, which is horrible for the environment. There would be a riot if fans were told they couldn't order a hamburger at the game.

Yeah the show is one of the only shows I laugh until I almost choke on food, but the live show doesn't look funny

I went a few years ago. Thought it was funny but not as funny as their show—they ended up showing lots of clips from the show.
