I always thought he did it so opposing teams couldn’t catch their breath and try and draw up a quick play. I like it, get the damn game over with and don’t give them any extra time to communicate

I have a feeling this will be quoted when they make the S16 after catching fire.

Lunardi had WI and Marquette as a 4/5. Would be awesome if they played each other but I'd hope they played later in the tourney.

Happ played 20 minutes and had 7 turnovers. That's not good. Nice to see the rest of the team pick up the slack.

I could've sworn the committee tries to avoid rematches the first weekend. Or maybe it's just the first round.

I agree, it’s dumb.

I’ll also be happy if this and his [only] 1 attempted charge draws per game are what he’s hated for going forward. Knock on wood but I think after that Murphy play the message may have been sent to him about the dirty stuff.

And I don’t mind trying to draw charges but between the refs not giving him the benefit of the doubt anymore and him maybe just going to the well too much, that has been much better down the stretch.

You can’t play a team for a 3rd time in the round of 32 I think is basically the only restriction nowadays.

That’s pretty much correct and I think why they are so well run. They are like the Spurs, A’s, or Patriots in their known eras but the difference being that they are basically walled off from easy access to elite players (some by choice).

So even in a year where they have a flawed set of players for the modern game, they do everything else right and over the course of 35 games just win by playing optimally in most ways against teams that run at slightly less efficiency. Throw in a conference with no bad defenses (other than Iowa) and it looks god awful when they have the ball at times.

They’ll probably shoot 30% and get run out of the gym tomorrow and in the first or 2nd NCAA round but they are built to win a good % of games over the long haul.

Trice is pretty bad on both ends of the court. Have not enjoyed watching him this year except for his hot start...

Fun to see most of the team forgetting how to shoot as the season goes by.

Would be cool if MSU would miss a shot as well.

Feels like a repeat of last night's Bucks game...they can't miss and we can't hit the broad side of a barn

Assumed MSU was going to win by 5-10 comfortably but this has made it an immediate boat race.

King is going to be a great offensive player if he isn’t already and has been the catalyst to at least get in the game. But you can see why he wasn’t fully relied upon...he was always a step behind his guy on defense.

UW has never really been able to defend MSU's high pick n roll.

Terrible call on Happ followed by a missed call on the other end
Amos Barshad: "So you got a job, a place to live, a license? What’s left?"

Giannis: “Nothing. Just get a ring now.”

Ultimately, I bet UW loses this game by about 9 points but they look pretty good on both ends. I wish Happ would just sag on those high PnR's.

7+ minute scoring drought down the stretch.

Hallmark of Badger basketball.
