It was briefly discussed and the consensus was it wasn't a big deal.

We used to have a cat and never saw a mouse, last night when my wife went to the kitchen she saw a mouse eating out of the trap right in front of her. Kind of unsettling even though I know quite a few houses have mice. Any other tips to help expedite them out of my home? Working on sealing up entrances tonight.
If you go the trap route, do yourself a favor and get a trap that is this style: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077T2NFBQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_XUe4BbP1V1RBPGianstoppable wrote:Heard some rustling the other night and saw some mouse poop on the counter, disgusting, so I set up 4 snap traps last night, got 4 mice. ****. lol, I know this time of the year they come in because its getting cool out and I have an old home from 1905 so there are some spots I need to seal up. Super easy to set and you don't have to touch the mouse to get it out/off the trap. Simple, engineering genius. I live in an old 1800's cheese factory that needs to be knocked down and rebuilt. They have been a life saver.
Don't waste your time with the sound or wave technology that is suppose to irritate them, the cold and potential predators outside are less tolerable so they don't work.

It's off-topic, but I do want to make one statement about State Street and the adjacent districts/neighborhoods. Many of the great, hole-in-the-wall spots got swallowed up by new construction, especially the sprawling Hub complex on lower State St and the refurbed part on the 100 block near Overture. There's been a few welcome additions within the last 5 years - most notably Short Stack, Taiwan Little Eats and Forage - but some of the other small spaces have been filled with places that just didn't have a chance in hell of surviving. In addition, some of the places are just too damn big for somebody independent to move in - Hopcat, Mr. Brews and the shuttered-for-years Cosi spring to mind.
Atwood, Willy St, Cap Square, East Johnson and the East Wash corridor [including the bits of Wilson and Main] have benefited and have now become the heart of Madison's dining and craft beer scene. I'm sure rents are going up there as well, but parking is markedly better [save for the Square] and there's places with a manageable enough footprint for someone to make a go of it. In short, infrastructure counts for a lot and Madison is now much more than a university attached to a town.
Go Bucks.

The Willy Street renovation is interesting. Long time residents are not very happy about the apartment complexes and gentrification of that neighborhood. Will be interesting.

IDK, seems like Jordan's would be a good spot for you. It's more restauranty than college bar. TV set up is lacking for sports, but they're on, just have to get yourself in the right spot. Burgers and food in general are on point.

unrelated post incoming, just want to talk about madison and my neighborhood.
i live in the park st/zoo area. i primarily walk to the rustic tavern/rockhound/mason, or down to regent st and hit luckys, or to monroe st to go to whatever there. all within walking distance, and its all great. but...i wish there was more on park st because its more my scene than the other two. regents too college-y and monroe st is too...yuppyish.
it kills me that there is not one decent beer and burger joint on park that has tvs so i can also watch sports.

I think Park Street is great. Even though I live a couple blocks from where it will go, I was hoping the Madison Public Market was going in at the old Thorstad site on Park, would have been huge for the area and brought in a lot of people under the wrong impression that Park is sketchy. You're on point about it needing a burger joint. I've been meaning to get to the Labor Temple for food. Fish fry there sounds legit and they're doing cool things with the menu courtesy of Laila who is the namesake of the closed Persian joint on Butler and is currently running Nu Noosh on Regent. I can't imagine moving from where I'm at now unless circumstances dictate, but I really like Bayview and would put that on my shortlist.

Have you been to Rockhound Brewing Co? I've heard good things and that's probably walkable for you.
You gotta get a little further south down Park Street to find some more down-to-earth spots. I like picking up cheap eats from McGees and Natys, and there are several really good Asian spots on Park St as well.

i have been to rockhound. its not great. im not an ipa/apa/skunkPiss fan, and they lack televisions.
ive not been to mcgees. i should. i love fried chicken.
naty's is great. i wish i could convince my girlfriend to go there more often.
humanrefutation wrote:Spoiler:
I think Naty's has better chicken than McGees - maybe it's that lemon pepper seasoning they use. But McGees is a solid spot in its own right.
Honestly, though, if I'm looking for fried chicken, I'm almost always moseying my way down Fish Hatch to Popeyes.

Are you referring to the spot that shows hardcore porn on their TVs during their breakfast run on the weekends?
That's pretty far from where he's talking about.
